How to use Super Brittle
Super Brittle is the top tier support Ice Monkey. Compared with Embrittlement:
- It attacks every 1.2 seconds instead of 2.4.
- Its debuff makes bloons take +4 damage from every source for 3 seconds instead of +1 for 2 seconds, and it removes lead and frozen immunities for 3 seconds.
- The blast deals 5 damage (+5 to ceramics) with the normal damage type, so it can hit every bloon type, and it slows MOAB-class bloons by 25% with permafrost.
- Popped bloons release 6 shards dealing 5 damage each.
- Its effects soak through 6 layers (7 with Deep Freeze), and it still permanently strips camo and regrow.
The debuff does not stack with Embrittlement or the Herald of Everfrost.
When to buy it
Super Brittle is a damage multiplier. Flat +4 damage per hit is enormous for towers that fire many small projectiles: Overdrive, The Tack Zone, Super Monkey Fan Club, Plasma Monkey Fan Club, Sun Avatar and Grandmaster Ninja all gain huge damage.
- 5-1-0 is common for faster attacks (0.9 seconds), keeping the debuff on more bloons.
- 5-2-0 adds pierce and longer freezes.
In CHIMPS it shines around a chokepoint, and Silas is its favored hero. It struggles on maps with several lanes that never meet.
Is it worth it?
Yes, when your damage comes from many small hits. It is immensely powerful in freeplay and in Boss Events, where the debuff applies to BADs and bosses and boosts every tower hitting them. Compared with Glue Storm, which is cheaper, Super Brittle gives a bigger flat damage boost and full decamo, while glue offers stronger slowdown. Compared with Absolute Zero or Icicle Impale it is a pure damage support rather than a staller.
