Military Conscription

Military Conscription is a sixth-row Military knowledge that reduces the base price of the first Military tower you place each game by 33%, so it costs about two thirds of normal. You need 14 Knowledge Points in the Military tree, Trade Agreements and a one-time 1,000 Monkey Money. It has nothing below it.

It also has a hidden perk: the first time you unlock it, all Military towers receive 1,000 Tower XP, just like Elite Military Training. The in-game description does not mention this.

How it changes the game

The discount applies once per game, to whichever Military tower you buy first: Sniper Monkey, Monkey Sub, Monkey Buccaneer, Monkey Ace, Heli Pilot, Mortar Monkey or Dartling Gunner. Some Medium examples: a Sniper costs about $235, a Monkey Sub about $220, a Monkey Ace about $535 and a Heli Pilot about $1,070.

• Opening plays: a cheap first Sub or Sniper makes round 1 easier, and with More Cash you can often place a Military tower plus something else immediately.
• Expensive towers benefit most: the biggest saving is on the Heli Pilot, where a third off is over $500. Some players open with a Heli on maps where it carries the early game.
• Stacking with Advanced Logistics: Advanced Logistics takes another 5% off all Military towers. The two discounts add together, so your first Military tower costs 38% less.

Once you place any Military tower, the discount is used up for that game, even if it was not the tower you meant to discount. It applies to the base tower only, not upgrades.

The discount was reduced from 50% to 33% in version 17 because it made very early Heli Pilots too strong.

Is it worth it?

Priority: must-have. It helps nearly every game, since most strategies include at least one Military tower, and it gives a free early boost on Hard and Impoppable where prices are highest. Along with Advanced Logistics and Big Bloon Sabotage, it is one of the three deep Military nodes most worth aiming for.

Where it works

Military Conscription works wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Military Only, Races and Boss Events. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off. If you plan exact sacrifice values for a Paragon or Sun Temple, remember that discounts reduce the cash counted as spent.
