Quad Burst

Quad Burst is a fourth-row Military knowledge that makes Airburst Darts split into 4 darts instead of 3. You need 8 Knowledge Points in the Military tree, Breaking Ballistic and a one-time 250 Monkey Money on top of the point. It unlocks Flanking Maneuvers.

How it changes the game

Airburst Darts (x-x-2 Monkey Sub) makes every dart split into smaller darts when it hits. One extra split dart is a 33% increase in split darts per hit, and each of them also carries the +1 pierce from Naval Upgrades:

• Early and mid game: a 2-0-2 or 0-2-2 Sub clears groups noticeably better, which makes the bottom-path Sub a stronger mid-game tower on water maps.
• Triple Guns and Armor Piercing Darts (x-x-3 and x-x-4): they fire more darts, so the extra split dart multiplies across a much higher fire rate.
• Sub Commander (x-x-5): its own darts split into six instead of five with the knowledge, and it still buffs other Subs.

It does not affect the Nautic Siege Core Paragon, and it does nothing for Subs without Airburst Darts. Damage per dart is unchanged.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good. For anyone who builds bottom-path Monkey Subs, this is one of the strongest Sub-related knowledges, and it costs only 250 Monkey Money. Bottom-path Subs are common on water maps for their high fire rate and, at Armor Piercing Darts, strong blimp damage, so the extra split dart helps them handle the bloons that spill out of blimps.

It is also the step toward Flanking Maneuvers, then Sub Admiral and Big Bloon Sabotage. Among fourth-row Military nodes, take it together with Trade Agreements, since Flanking Maneuvers needs both.

The extra split dart is worth the most when the Sub fires into dense groups, because each split dart can find a different target. Against a single blimp, most of the split darts miss anyway, so the gain there is smaller.

Where it works

Quad Burst is active wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Military Only, Impoppable, Races and freeplay. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off. The 250 Monkey Money is paid once; after a respec, it only costs a point to buy again.
