Acid Stability

Acid Stability is a fourth-row Magic knowledge that makes the Alchemist's acid pools last 5 seconds longer, from 7 seconds to 12. You need 4 Knowledge Points in the Magic tree, Strong Tonic and a one-time 250 Monkey Money. It has nothing below it.

How it changes the game

Acid Pool (x-x-2 Alchemist) makes the Alchemist throw potions at the track when no bloons are in range, leaving puddles that damage bloons walking through them. Pools stack up over time, so a longer lifespan means more pools on the track at once:

• Stockpiling between rounds: an Alchemist can build up more pools before a wave arrives, which helps it handle the start of each round.
• Purple Bloons in Magic-only games: acid can pop Purple Bloons, so longer-lasting pools are a handy early answer to purples in Magic Monkeys Only on maps where your other towers struggle with them.
• Lead to Gold (x-x-3): with more time on the track, the pools have more chances to work alongside the Lead-converting attack.

There is a real downside for Rubber to Gold (x-x-4) strategies. Rubber to Gold earns cash by converting bloons with its special attack before they are popped. More acid on the track pops some of those bloons first, which can lower your income. Many pools across a large map can also add lag.

The knowledge does not change pool damage or pierce, and only affects Alchemists with Acid Pool.

Is it worth it?

Priority: situational. It is useful for Alchemist players who rely on acid pools for defense, and counter-productive for Rubber to Gold farms. Since version 57 you can toggle single knowledges off in the Monkey Knowledge menu, so you can own it and switch it off for farming games.

Because it unlocks nothing, it is usually one of the last Magic knowledges to buy, after Mo' Monkey Money, Mana Shield and the Ninja and Super Monkey nodes.

Where it works

Acid Stability works wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Magic Monkeys Only, Impoppable and freeplay. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off.
