Charged Chinooks

Charged Chinooks is a fifth-row Military knowledge that increases the cash and lives from the Heli Pilot's supply crate ability by 25%, rounded down. A Support Chinook crate gives 12 lives and $1,938 instead of 10 lives and $1,550, and a Special Poperations crate gives 31 lives and $5,625 instead of 25 lives and $4,500. You need 8 Knowledge Points in the Military tree, Rapid Razors and a one-time 500 Monkey Money. It unlocks Door Gunner.

How it changes the game

Support Chinook (x-4-x Heli Pilot) and Special Poperations (x-5-x) have an activated ability that drops a crate containing cash and lives. Charged Chinooks makes every crate bigger:

• Cash: +$388 per Support Chinook crate and +$1,125 per Special Poperations crate. Over a long game with regular use, that adds up to several extra upgrades.
• Lives: +2 per Support Chinook crate and +6 per Special Poperations crate. Useful for rebuilding lives on hard maps or before a risky round.
• Farming in freeplay: players who keep a Chinook on cooldown for steady income get 25% more from every use.

Only the crate ability is affected. The Heli's darts, the Special Poperations Marine and the Redeploy ability are unchanged. Crate values have been adjusted several times in balance updates, so the exact base numbers can change, but the knowledge always adds 25%.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good, mostly as a route node. For players who use Support Chinook for income, it is a solid economy boost. For everyone else it is the required step toward Door Gunner, and Door Gunner is required for Advanced Logistics, which makes every Military tower 5% cheaper. That route makes Charged Chinooks a point nearly every account buys.

Among fifth-row Military nodes, it pairs with Aeronautic Subsidy as the two halves of the Advanced Logistics route.

Lives from the crate can push you above your starting total, so on hard maps a Chinook kept on cooldown doubles as a life bank on top of its income.

Where it works

Charged Chinooks is active wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Military Only, Impoppable and freeplay. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off.
