Veteran Monkey Training

Veteran Monkey Training reduces the reload time of every tower by 3%. Attack cooldowns are multiplied by 0.97, which works out to about 3.1% more attacks per second. It applies to all towers, Paragons included. It is a fifth-row Support knowledge: you need 8 points in Support and To ARMS!, plus a one-time fee of 500 Monkey Money.

How it changes the game

A 3% boost sounds small, but it applies to everything you place for the whole game. That makes it one of the few knowledges that helps every strategy, on every map, from round 1 to deep freeplay.

• Early game. Your opening towers pop slightly more per round. It will rarely save a run on its own, but it adds a margin on tight early rounds.
• Late game and freeplay. Damage per second is what decides late rounds. 3% more attacks on a defence that deals millions of damage is a lot of extra damage in absolute terms.
• Boss Events. Every percent of DPS shortens the time to kill a boss tier, which is what ranked boss leaderboards measure.

It stacks with every other attack speed bonus, such as villages, Overclock, Monkey Boost and Call to Arms. With Paragon of Power it also stacks multiplicatively: a Paragon with both ends up attacking about 23.7% faster than without either.

There are no downsides. Freeze-based towers have a built-in exception, so the faster attack speed does not mess up the timing of their freeze effects.

Is it worth it?

Priority: must-have. Veteran Monkey Training is a straight upgrade to every tower and the key to Paragon of Power, which is close to mandatory for Boss Events and Paragons in general.

Among the fifth-row Support knowledge, it is the first pick for late-game and boss players. Economy players often get Better Sell Deals or Healthy Bananas first, but everyone should have all three. Its sister knowledge Global Ability Cooldowns is good too, but less universal, since it only helps towers with abilities.

Where it works

Veteran Monkey Training works in every mode where Monkey Knowledge is active, including Impoppable, Boss Events and most races. It is off in CHIMPS, so do not count on the extra 3% when you test a CHIMPS strategy; switch MK off when practising. Challenges with MK disabled and Rogue Legends also run without it.
