In-game description

Guide

The Tech Bot is a little robot you place next to your defence. Link it to a tower with an activated ability and it fires that ability for you the moment it is ready, every time, for the rest of the game. It costs 50 Monkey Money.

What the Tech Bot does

  • Placed on land like a small tower.
  • Has its own ability to link to one tower that has at least one activated ability. Heroes count, so it can run hero abilities too.
  • While linked, it activates that tower's abilities as soon as their cooldowns finish.
  • You can unlink and relink it at any time, even between rounds. Linking has no cooldown.
  • With the Ambush Tech knowledge, you can set it to wait until Bloons reach a chosen part of the track before firing.
  • Can be placed during the break between rounds.

Abilities that need one manual use first

Some abilities need a target. For these, activate the ability yourself once. After that, the Tech Bot reuses whatever target or spot you chose last:

Abilities the Tech Bot cannot use

It cannot link to towers whose only abilities are these:

How to get Tech Bots

Buy them for 50 Monkey Money, or collect them from:

Best times to use it

  • Any long game with abilities. Abilities used on cooldown are worth far more than abilities you forget to press. Over a hundred rounds that adds up to dozens of extra activations.
  • Engineer Overclock and Ultraboost. These need to be reapplied all the time. A Tech Bot on the Engineer keeps your main carry permanently overclocked.
  • Late-game spam abilities. Tack Shooter Blade Maelstrom, Boomerang Turbo Charge, Super Monkey Tech Terror and Monkey Ace Ground Zero are all good targets.
  • Fast forward. At high speed you will miss ability timings. The Bot never does.
  • With Ambush Tech on blimp rounds. Set the Bot to hold a big damage ability until the BAD or a ZOMG wave reaches your kill zone, instead of wasting it on early Bloons.

Best combos

  • Engineer Monkey 0-4-0 or 0-5-0 with a strong carry. The classic pairing: the Bot keeps Overclock or Ultraboost running on your best tower without you tapping it.
  • Ninja Monkey Bloon Sabotage and Grand Saboteur. Slowing every blimp on cooldown is a huge boost to a defence.
  • Heroes. Quincy, Striker Jones, Admiral Brickell and other heroes with damage abilities gain a lot from perfect timing.
  • Time Stop. Cooldowns keep running during Time Stop, and the Bot fires abilities the instant they are back.
  • More Tech Bots. One Bot per ability tower is cheap. In a long game, three or four Bots running different abilities are worth far more than their cost.

Where you can't use it

Is it worth the Monkey Money?

Yes, for anyone who plays long games. 50 Monkey Money for a permanent helper that never misses an ability timing is one of the best deals in the Powers menu. It saves effort in normal games and adds real strength to Boss Event and freeplay setups.

Ambush Tech is worth a knowledge point once you use Bots regularly. If you rely on many abilities, the Tech Bot Prime unlocks after about 25 Tech Bots bought and used, and it can link several towers at once and boost the abilities it fires.
