Hero
Adora
“Embrace the sun!”
Info
Adora is the sun priestess hero. She costs $1,000 on Medium ($850 Easy, $1,080 Hard, $1,200 Impoppable) and is bought for 5,000 Monkey Money once you reach player level 25 (she could also be unlocked through the She-Ra pack). She has one of the slowest XP scales in the game (1.71x), which she makes up for with an ability that turns your own towers into XP.
Attack and damage type. Adora fires homing Divine Bolts that hit up to 5 bloons each. They pop Lead and frozen bloons but not Purple Bloons, and she has no camo detection at any level. Her Long Arm of Light ability temporarily lets her pop Purples, and from level 20 her Ball of Light can hit them too.
Role. Adora is a damage hero with a huge late game ceiling. She fires more and more bolts as she levels (up to 8 per shot at level 18), and her bolts deal bonus damage to Fortified bloons. Her signature trick is Blood Sacrifice: she sacrifices one of your towers for XP worth four times its value, then gives herself and nearby Sun Avatars a short attack speed and range boost. At level 20 she can transform into the True Sun Goddess when a Sun Temple near her becomes a True Sun God. That makes her a popular pick for extreme late game and Freeplay runs.
Key power spikes.
- Level 3: The Long Arm of Light, double range and pierce plus Purple popping for 10 seconds.
- Level 4, 6 and 8: two, three, then four bolts per shot.
- Level 7: Blood Sacrifice for fast leveling and a short buff.
- Level 9: range 54 and bonus Fortified damage.
- Level 10: Ball of Light, an orb that zaps bloons for 12 seconds.
- Level 12 and 14: five, then six bolts.
- Level 15: bolts deal 2 damage, stronger Ball of Light.
- Level 16: Long Arm of Light lasts 15 seconds and doubles bolt damage.
- Level 18: eight bolts per shot.
- Level 20: Ball of Light deals 20 damage and pops Purples, Blood Sacrifice buffs are much stronger, and the True Sun Goddess transformation becomes possible.
Monkey Knowledge that helps. Big Bloon Blueprints and Weak Point benefit level 4+ Adora a lot because every bolt gets the bonus. Empowered Heroes offsets her slow start, Hero Favors drops her price to $900 on Medium, and Quick Hands and Heroic Reach help her bolts.

How to use Adora
Adora asks more of you than most heroes: she needs support early, careful sacrifices in the mid game, and a Sun Temple plan for the late game. In return she becomes one of the strongest heroes in very long games.
When to pick Adora
Pick Adora when:
- The late game matters most. Eight bolts per shot, Ball of Light and the True Sun Goddess form make her excellent from round 80 onward and in Freeplay.
- You plan a Super Monkey build. Blood Sacrifice buffs Sun Avatars, Sun Temples and True Sun Gods in her range, and her level 20 transformation needs a Sun Temple.
- You want to recycle towers. Blood Sacrifice removes a tower and turns its value into XP. In CHIMPS, where selling is disabled, this is the only way to get rid of an early tower and still gain something.
Skip her when you need a cheap, self-sufficient early hero, or when you have no plan for camo and Purples. Her mid game is her weakest phase.
Leveling and power spikes
Her XP scale is slow (1.71x), but Blood Sacrifice changes the math completely.
- Level 3: The Long Arm of Light, your emergency button for dense rounds and Purples.
- Level 4 to 8: more bolts and more pierce. Her early game is decent here.
- Level 7: Blood Sacrifice. From now on you can feed her towers you no longer need.
- Level 10: Ball of Light.
- Level 12 to 15: five then six bolts, more pierce, 2 damage per bolt.
- Level 16 to 18: a much stronger Long Arm of Light, faster attacks and eight bolts.
- Level 20: stronger Ball of Light with Purple popping, much bigger Blood Sacrifice buffs and the True Sun Goddess transformation.
How to level her faster:
- Blood Sacrifice. She gains XP equal to four times the sacrificed tower's value. Sacrifice towers that have done their job, such as early defence that will not matter later.
- Energizer (Monkey Sub 5-0-0). Heroes in range earn XP 50% faster, and this also boosts Blood Sacrifice XP.
- Monkey Knowledge: Monkey Education, Self Taught Heroes, Monkeys Together Strong and Empowered Heroes.
- Buying levels with cash also works, but sacrificing is usually more efficient.
Best tower combos
- Super Monkey Sun Avatar, Sun Temple and True Sun God (top path). Blood Sacrifice buffs them, and a True Sun God built next to a level 20 Adora turns her into the True Sun Goddess: +8 damage and +30 pierce on her main attack and a much stronger Ball of Light. She keeps the form even if the True Sun God is later sold or sacrificed.
- Monkey Village Call to Arms (x-4-x). A known late game pairing in CHIMPS. Its ability gives nearby towers, Adora included, a temporary attack speed and pierce boost.
- Alchemist Berserker Brew or Stronger Stimulant (3-x-x or 4-2-0). Extra damage and attack speed on every bolt.
- Monkey Village Radar Scanner (x-2-x). She never gets camo detection, so she needs it.
- Purple coverage. Pair her with sharp or explosive damage for Purple rounds while Long Arm of Light is on cooldown.
- Cheap early towers to sacrifice. Dart Monkeys, Boomerangs or Ninjas that carried the early game make good XP later.
Best maps
- Maps with a central spot that reaches a lot of track, since her homing bolts and 54 to 59 range cover a big area.
- Long maps such as Logs, Resort and Cubism, which give her time to grow before the dense late rounds.
- Freeplay on any map with space for Sun Temples near her.
Adora in CHIMPS
She costs $1,080 on Hard, so you place her after your opener. In CHIMPS, money is limited, which makes big sacrifices expensive, so her mid game is usually the weak point. The standard plan is to build strong early and mid game towers, then sacrifice them to Adora once they start falling off. Because selling is disabled in CHIMPS, Blood Sacrifice is your only way to recycle a tower.
A level 20 Adora with Call to Arms can handle almost every late round, but getting there takes careful planning. Keep camo and Purple coverage at all times.
Adora in Impoppable and boss events
In Impoppable she costs $1,200, but Monkey Knowledge (including Empowered Heroes) and more flexible money make her much easier to level, and sacrifices hurt less.
In Boss Events she is a strong late-tier damage hero, especially as part of a Sun Temple core. Ball of Light deals heavy single-target damage, and the True Sun Goddess form adds even more.
Abilities: when to use them
The Long Arm of Light (level 3). Doubles her range and pierce and lets her pop Purples for 10 seconds (15 seconds and double damage from level 16). Cooldown is 45 seconds. Fire it on dense rounds, Purple groups or when a blimp is about to escape her normal range.
Blood Sacrifice (level 7). Select a tower to sacrifice. Adora gains XP equal to four times its value, and she and nearby Sun Avatars (also Sun Temples and True Sun Gods) get extra attack speed and range for 10 seconds. The buff is capped at +33% attack speed and +25% range before level 20, and up to double attack speed and +50% range at level 20. Cooldown is 30 seconds. Sacrifice towers that are no longer pulling their weight, never your main defence before a hard round.
Ball of Light (level 10). Summons an orb that zaps bloons based on her targeting for 12 seconds (15 at level 20), similar to a Plasma Accelerator beam. Cooldown is 60 seconds. At level 20 it deals 20 damage and pops Purples. Set her to Strong and use it on blimp rounds as the strongest blimp enters range.
Skins
Adora's skins are cosmetic only and do not change her stats.
Common mistakes
- No camo plan. She never gets camo detection.
- Sacrificing too early. Losing a key tower right before a hard round can cause leaks.
- Forgetting Purples between Long Arm cooldowns.
- Expecting a strong mid game. She needs support until her late levels.
- Building the True Sun God outside her range. The transformation requires the Sun Temple and level 20 Adora to be in range of each other when you upgrade.

Frequently asked questions
Is Adora good in CHIMPS?
Yes in skilled hands. Her early and late game are strong, but money is tight for sacrifices, so her mid game needs support.
How does Blood Sacrifice work?
You pick one of your towers to remove. Adora gains XP equal to four times that tower's value and gets a short attack speed and range buff, shared with nearby Sun Avatars and Sun Temples.
Does Adora have camo detection?
No, at no level. Use a Radar Scanner Village or another camo source.
Can Adora pop Purple Bloons?
Only during The Long Arm of Light, or with Ball of Light from level 20.
How do you get True Sun Goddess Adora?
Get Adora to level 20, then upgrade a Sun Temple within her range into a True Sun God. She transforms and keeps the form even if the True Sun God is later removed.
Is Adora good for Freeplay?
She is one of the best Freeplay heroes, thanks to eight bolts per shot, a strong Ball of Light and the True Sun Goddess form.
