MOAB-class bloon
ZOMG
Info
The ZOMG (Zeppelin of Mighty Gargantuaness) is the third MOAB-class blimp: a huge black and green zeppelin with 4,000 health. It is even slower than a BFB, but it carries four BFBs, which means 16 MOABs and 64 Ceramics. One ZOMG is 16,656 RBE, and it ends Hard mode on round 80.
- Health: 4,000 (8,000 when Fortified)
- Speed: 0.18x Red Bloon speed, the same as a BAD
- Children: 4 BFBs (4 Fortified BFBs if Fortified)
- RBE: 16,656 (27,296 Fortified)
- Immunities: attacks that only target up to BFBs or only "small blimps" do not work on it, for example Abyssal Warrior's ink, Psi before level 20 and the Monkey Pirates hook
- Reduced effects: Maim MOAB stuns it for a shorter time and MOAB Shove pushes it back less
- First appearance: round 80 (round 79 in Alternate Bloons Rounds)
- First Fortified ZOMG: round 97, with 10,720 health each because of late-game health ramping
Key rounds
- Round 80: a single ZOMG, the final round of Hard
- Round 85 and 87: 2 and then 4 ZOMGs
- Round 88: 2 ZOMGs with 18 MOABs and 8 BFBs
- Round 92: 4 ZOMGs behind 50 Fortified MOABs
- Round 94 and 96: 6 ZOMGs each, with 25 and 30 BFBs
- Round 97: 2 Fortified ZOMGs
- Round 98: 8 ZOMGs and 30 Fortified BFBs
- Round 100: the BAD releases 2 ZOMGs when it pops
From round 81 every MOAB-class blimp gains extra health each round, so a ZOMG on round 98 has far more than 4,000 health. Two ZOMGs also come out of every BAD.
How to pop ZOMG
The ZOMG is where many defenses that looked strong on round 70 fall apart. Its own 4,000 health is only part of the problem. The bigger issue is the 16 MOABs and 64 Ceramics packed inside, which spread across your track as each layer breaks. The ZOMG itself is slow and predictable; its insides are what leak.
Why the ZOMG is dangerous
- Enormous RBE. 16,656 RBE in one blimp. Even after the shell breaks, four BFBs appear at once.
- Fewer cheap answers. Monkey Pirates cannot hook it, Psi cannot touch it before level 20, and attacks that only work up to BFBs do nothing.
- Weaker crowd control. Maim MOAB stuns are shorter on ZOMGs and MOAB Shove's percentage knockback is smaller.
- Packed rounds. Rounds 94, 96 and 98 send ZOMGs inside huge groups of BFBs and Fortified MOABs. Those rounds are about total damage output, not just one big target.
Damage that works on ZOMGs
- Bonus MOAB damage from MOAB Eliminator, Dark Champion, First Strike Capability, Cripple MOAB and the Super Monkey's top path.
- High raw damage from Plasma Accelerator, Ray of Doom, M.A.D, Sun Avatar and above.
- Percentage damage: Ezili's MOAB Hex scales with the ZOMG's big health pool.
- Stalling still works, just less. MOAB Press keeps working: two 0-2-4 MOAB Presses are enough to stop a ZOMG from moving forward. MOAB Shove and MOAB Glue still slow it.
- Area damage behind the blimp killers. Spike Storm, Carpet of Spikes and strong area towers catch the BFBs, MOABs and Ceramics that pour out.
Best towers against the ZOMG
First ZOMG (round 80)
- MOAB Eliminator (2-5-0 Bomb Shooter): huge ability damage plus constant bonus blimp damage.
- Sun Avatar (3-2-0 Super Monkey) or Sun Temple: strong all-round damage that handles both the ZOMG and its children.
- Plasma Accelerator (Dartling Gunner, top path tier 4): a long beam that hits the ZOMG and anything near it.
- Elite Defender (Sniper, bottom path tier 5) or Cripple MOAB (5-0-2 Sniper): Cripple MOAB stuns the blimp and makes it take extra damage.
- First Strike Capability (Monkey Sub, middle path tier 4): a massive missile that also damages everything around it.
- MOAB Press (0-2-4 or 2-0-4 Boomerang): two of them stall a single ZOMG while the rest of your defense works.
Late game (rounds 94 to 100)
- True Sun God, The Anti-Bloon and Legend of the Night for raw blimp damage.
- Ray of Doom and M.A.D on the Dartling Gunner.
- Pre-Emptive Strike to hit every blimp that enters the track.
- Spike Storm and Carpet of Spikes to clean the BFB and MOAB layers.
- Paragons if the mode allows them.
Heroes that help
- Ezili: MOAB Hex is percentage damage and keeps working on Fortified ZOMGs.
- Psi: at level 20 Psi can finally affect ZOMGs and DDTs, which makes him a strong late pick.
- Adora: excellent late-game single-target damage that shreds big blimps.
- Benjamin: at level 18 his Syphon Funding can target ZOMGs, and his income helps you afford tier 5 upgrades by round 80.
Powers and Monkey Knowledge
- MOAB Mine deals 5,000 damage, enough to break a round 80 ZOMG, but its BFBs still come out.
- Big Bloon Sabotage lowers the health of every layer, which adds up over a whole ZOMG.
- Hard Press makes MOAB Press stall even better.
- Super Monkey Storm is a decent panic button when a ZOMG breaks near the exit.
Dangerous ZOMG rounds
- Round 80: the first ZOMG. Make sure you have area damage for the 4 BFBs and 16 MOABs, not just the shell.
- Round 85 and 87: 2 and 4 ZOMGs in a row; your round 80 defense needs to grow.
- Round 92: 50 Fortified MOABs in front of 4 ZOMGs push your towers' targeting off the ZOMGs.
- Round 94, 96 and 98: hyper-dense blimp rounds. Round 98 (30 Fortified BFBs plus 8 ZOMGs) is widely seen as the hardest round before 100.
- Round 100: the BAD drops 2 ZOMGs deep in your track.
Mode notes
- CHIMPS: no MOAB Mine, no Monkey Knowledge, no selling. Build a defense whose damage scales from round 80 into 98, such as a MOAB Eliminator that grows into more blimp damage.
- Impoppable: one leak loses, and a single MOAB from a ZOMG counts. Keep area damage near the exit.
- Double HP MOABs: 8,000 health per ZOMG and double health on every child. Round 98 becomes extremely hard.
- Alternate Bloons Rounds: the first ZOMG arrives one round earlier, on round 79.
Common mistakes
- Building only single-target damage and losing to the 16 MOABs that come out.
- Counting on Monkey Pirates or early Psi, which cannot affect ZOMGs.
- Ignoring health ramping. A ZOMG on round 98 is much tougher than the one on round 80.
Frequently asked questions
How much health does a ZOMG have?
A ZOMG has 4,000 health and a Fortified ZOMG has 8,000. From round 81 blimp health increases every round, so the Fortified ZOMGs on round 97 have 10,720 health.
What round does the first ZOMG come?
Round 80 in normal games, which is also the last round of Hard. In Alternate Bloons Rounds it comes on round 79.
What comes out of a ZOMG?
Four BFBs, which release 16 MOABs and 64 Ceramics in total. A Fortified ZOMG releases Fortified BFBs.
What is the best tower against ZOMGs?
MOAB Eliminator, Sun Avatar or Sun Temple, Plasma Accelerator, Elite Defender and First Strike Capability are all reliable. Pair them with area damage for the children.
Can Monkey Pirates hook a ZOMG?
No. The Monkey Pirates hook only works on smaller blimps. You need raw damage or the Pirate Lord's stronger ability.
Is a ZOMG or a DDT harder?
A ZOMG has far more health and RBE, but DDTs are fast, camo and lead. Most players find DDTs harder to stop because they need special detection, while ZOMGs just need enough damage.
