How to use Carpet of Spikes
Carpet of Spikes turns Spike Storm into a passive that fires automatically every 15 seconds, while keeping the activated Spike Storm as well (the two cannot fire at the same moment). All spikes, both main attack and storm, now deal 3 damage with +7 against MOAB-class Bloons, and gain +5 pierce for 10 per pile (15 with 1-5-0). The main attack also becomes twice as fast, with a 0.525-second cooldown, and its range grows from 34 to 50. Storm spikes last 18 to 22 seconds, double that with 0-5-1, and can carry over one round.
When to buy it
Carpet of Spikes is the cheapest tier 5 Spike Factory and a strong pick for global MOAB-class damage.
- It is very good against low-density rounds, which includes most DDT and BAD rounds in CHIMPS.
- Shorter maps with fewer lanes concentrate the spikes, so damage goes up.
- It struggles with dense rounds and Ceramics, so pair it with real cleanup. Lord of the Abyss is a natural partner, since its pierce buff boosts every pile; The Bloon Solver also works.
Crosspaths: 1-5-0 or 2-5-0 is best in most cases, skipping White Hot Spikes if you do not need lead popping. 0-5-2 is better on maps with alternating lanes such as Bazaar, Muddy Puddles or Erosion, where Smart Spikes keeps storms on the active lanes.
