How to use Spiked Balls
Spiked Balls replaces spike piles with spiked balls. Each ball has 11 pierce and deals 2 Normal damage, with +3 damage to Ceramics and +1 to Fortified Bloons. Normal damage means it pops Lead and Frozen Bloons without needing White Hot Spikes.
When to buy it
On its own, Spiked Balls is expensive for what it does. It lacks pierce for dense mid-game rounds, and in the late game it is weaker against Super Ceramics than supports of a similar price. Its main role is as a stop on the way to Spiked Mines.
- 3-2-0 is better on shorter maps or when the factory covers a single lane, because faster production keeps the track filled.
- 3-0-2 is better when you need to cover several exits or crossing lanes, thanks to Smart Spikes targeting and the start-of-round speed boost.
It pairs well with Berserker Brew if you plan to stay on this tier for a few rounds.
Is it worth it?
Only as a step toward Spiked Mines. If you need cheap cleanup now, a 1-0-2 or 2-0-2 factory with Alchemist support does more per dollar.
