How to use Super Mines

Super Mines produces mines half as often, one every 3.5 seconds, but each one is enormous. A Super Mine has 18 pierce and deals 50 damage, with +30 Ceramic and +15 Fortified damage. Every time a spike is used up, a small explosion hits up to 30 nearby Bloons for 20 damage. When the mine expires, it detonates in a 100-unit radius (133 with 5-0-1), hitting up to 60 Bloons for 1,000 damage plus bonus Ceramic and Fortified damage, and sets them on fire for 2,500 damage every 2 seconds for about 6 seconds. All of it can pop any Bloon type.

When to buy it

Super Mines costs $125,000 on Medium, so it is a late-game, Boss Event or Freeplay tower rather than a standard round 100 carry.

  • 5-2-0 is the normal choice for higher damage output.
  • 5-0-2 is used in Boss Rush, where the start-of-round speed boost from Smart Spikes triggers often.
  • Unlike most Spike Factories, it can sit at the front or middle of the track, because the huge expiry explosion covers a lot of ground and the burn has time to tick.

How it compares

  • Carpet of Spikes is far cheaper and covers the whole map with MOAB damage, but struggles with density and Ceramics.
  • Perma-Spike is the efficient CHIMPS pick for DDTs and round 100, at a quarter of the price.
  • Super Mines brings far more raw damage than either, which is why it is mainly a Boss and Freeplay tower.

Is it worth it?

For Boss Events and Freeplay, yes. It deals incredible damage for the cost and is a key piece for the Mega Massive Munitions Factory Paragon. In CHIMPS, the price is usually too high compared with Perma-Spike or other tier 5s.
