Long Turbo

Long Turbo is a fifth-row Primary knowledge that adds 5 seconds to the Boomerang Monkey's Turbo Charge ability, from 10 to 15 seconds, and to Perma Charge's ability, from 15 to 20 seconds. You need 10 Knowledge Points in the Primary tree, Hard Press and a one-time 500 Monkey Money. It unlocks Bionic Augmentation.

How it changes the game

Turbo Charge (x-4-x Boomerang Monkey) has an activated ability that massively boosts its attack speed for a short time. Perma Charge (x-5-x) keeps a high attack speed permanently and has an even stronger version of the ability. Long Turbo makes each activation last longer:

• Turbo Charge: 50% longer ability uptime per use. The ability's cooldown is unchanged, so the share of time spent boosted goes up noticeably.
• Perma Charge: 33% longer ability. On a tower that already deals heavy damage, five extra seconds of the boosted state can finish a ZOMG or a Boss phase.
• Blimp rounds: the ability is usually saved for MOAB-class waves. Longer bursts mean more damage per wave and fewer rounds where the ability ends just before the blimp pops.

Crosspaths that add pierce, such as 2-4-0 or 2-5-0 with Glaives, get the most out of the extra time because each boomerang hits more targets, which also helps clean up blimp children. Red Hot Rangs crosspaths (x-4-2) add damage and Lead popping instead.

It changes only the ability duration. Attack speed during the ability, damage and the cooldown are the same.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good, and a must-have if you use middle-path Boomerang Monkeys. It turns Turbo Charge from a short burst into a meaningful window of damage, and it is the step before Bionic Augmentation, which gives those towers Camo detection while the ability runs.

Among fifth-row Primary nodes, Long Turbo is one of the best pure gameplay buffs. Cheaper Solution and Come On Everybody! are more important only if your goal is More Cash as quickly as possible.

Where it works

Long Turbo works wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled: Standard, Impoppable, Primary Only, Races and Boss Events. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off, so ability timings tested with knowledge on will be 5 seconds shorter there.
