Fraggy Frags

Fraggy Frags is a second-row Primary knowledge that adds 2 extra frags to every Frag Bombs explosion. A 0-0-2 Bomb Shooter throws 10 frags per bomb instead of 8. It requires Increased Lifespan, costs one Knowledge Point, and unlocks Budget Clusters.

How it changes the game

Frag Bombs is the tier 2 bottom-path upgrade that makes each bomb burst into small sharp fragments. Fraggy Frags adds two more fragments to that burst, which is a 25% increase at the base level:

• 0-0-2 and 0-x-2 early builds: more frags means better clean-up of the bloons that survive the blast, especially the children of Ceramics.
• Top-path crosspaths: Really Big Bombs and above with Frag Bombs throw more frags than a plain 0-0-2, and Fraggy Frags still adds +2 on top of their higher count.
• MOAB Assassin and MOAB Eliminator with Frag Bombs (x-4-2 and x-5-2): since version 54, the fragments from their activated abilities also get the bonus.

What it does not change:

• The number of clusters from Cluster Bombs, Recursive Cluster or Bomb Blitz. Those are a different mechanic.
• Frag damage or frag pierce. Each frag is exactly as strong as before; you just get two more.

Frags are Sharp, so they can hit the Black and Zebra bloons that the explosion itself cannot damage. That is the hidden strength of a frag crosspath, and two extra frags make it a little more reliable.

Is it worth it?

Priority: situational. Frag builds are a niche part of Bomb Shooter play, and two extra frags is a modest gain. Where it shines is in Races and in crosspaths like 2-0-2 or 4-0-2, where frags clean up after big explosions. For most accounts, the main reason to buy Fraggy Frags is that it leads to Budget Clusters and then Violent Impact.

Compared with Cheap 'Rangs, the other child of Increased Lifespan, Fraggy Frags has a smaller impact. Cheap 'Rangs opens the Boomerang branch with Long Turbo and Bionic Augmentation. Take Fraggy Frags after that, or when you need cheap points to meet the 5-point requirement for row three.

Where it works

Fraggy Frags is active wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Primary Only, Impoppable and Boss Events. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off.
