Supersize Glue Trap

Supersize Glue Trap in BTD6 lets the Glue Trap power slow MOABs, BFBs, ZOMGs and DDTs. How much glue each blimp uses and when it is worth it.

Glue Trap can slow MOAB-Class Bloons, though the bigger the bloon, the more glue is used up.

In-game description

Guide

Supersize Glue Trap lets the Glue Trap power glue MOAB-class bloons as well as normal bloons. Bigger blimps use up more of the trap: a MOAB costs 10 of its capacity, a BFB or DDT costs 20, and a ZOMG costs 50. BADs and Boss Bloons cannot be slowed by it. It is a third-row Powers knowledge that needs 3 points in the Powers tree and Mauling MOAB Mines, and costs one Knowledge Point with no Monkey Money.

How it changes the game

A normal Glue Trap sits on the track and glues up to 300 bloons that touch it, slowing them by 50% for 30 seconds through all their layers. Each purchase gives you two traps. Without this knowledge, blimps simply ignore it.

With Supersize Glue Trap, a blimp that hits the trap is slowed by the same 50% for 30 seconds. That is a big deal on blimp rounds: a slowed BFB or ZOMG spends twice as long inside your defence, which can turn a leak into a clean pop. Examples:

  • First MOAB rounds. A Glue Trap can slow the round 40 MOAB long enough for a weak early defence to finish it.
  • Fast blimps. DDTs move very fast. Slowing them gives your camo-detecting, Lead-popping damage more time to work.
  • Emergency use. When a ZOMG is about to get through, a trap in front of it can save a run.

The trade-off: blimps eat the trap's capacity quickly. A few blimps can use up glue that would otherwise slow dozens of ceramics. On rounds with both blimps and super ceramics, you may need other slowing tools for the ceramics, such as an Ice Monkey or Glue Gunner.

Is it worth it?

Priority: situational. If you use Glue Traps on hard rounds or in freeplay, it is a strong upgrade that turns the Power into real blimp control. If you never use Powers, it does nothing. It is also the only way to Ambush Tech.

In the third row, Longer Boosts is the higher priority because it leads to Pre-Game Prep and Powerful Monkey Storm. Supersize Glue Trap is the best of the rest for players who carry Powers into tough games.

Where it works

This knowledge only matters where both Monkey Knowledge and Powers are allowed. Powers cannot be used in CHIMPS, Races or ranked Boss Events, and challenge creators can disable them. In Contested Territory, MK is only active on regular tiles. Rogue Legends never uses MK.
