Beginner map
Tinkerton
Info
Tinkerton is a Beginner map added in Version 43.0 in May 2024, in the same update that introduced the hero Rosalia, Boss Rush and Promo Codes. It shows the outside of Rosalia's workshop, where everything seems to run on orange juice: an orange tree, juice pumped through pipes, and little drones carrying out jobs.
Bloons enter above the pipes, travel along the pipework in the direction the juice flows, and then move onto a grassy path for the final stretch. The pipes and grass together measure 36.8 RBS, plus a 4.68 RBS grass section where bloons are slowed by 40%, the same as a basic Glue Gunner. That slow zone makes the end of the track a great place to finish bloons off. There is one entrance and one exit.
The large vat of orange juice counts as water, so Monkey Subs, Buccaneers and other water towers can be placed in it. The smaller vat with the swirly mixture cannot hold towers. The orange juice containers in the bottom left are high ground: land towers placed on them can see over the obstacles around the workshop, which otherwise block line of sight. There are no removable objects.
Tinkerton has an interactive rocket. Tap it eleven times and it launches at the strongest bloon on screen. The hit deals 3 damage and the explosion deals 50 damage to up to 16 bloons nearby, stunning them for 3 seconds. The explosion cannot damage camo bloons, so it is best saved for big non-camo threats.
Other interactions are just for fun. The whiteboard flips between a page of nonsense maths and a drawing by Rosalia, the book of munitions and oranges opens and closes, and tapping the top tree drops an orange that a drone flies over to collect.
Compared with other Beginner maps, Tinkerton is short and has some vision problems, but the slowing grass and the high-ground containers give it useful tools.
How to beat Tinkerton
Map overview for strategy
Tinkerton's track is short, so your towers do not get long on each bloon. Two features help balance that. The grass at the end slows bloons by 40%, so towers covering that stretch get extra time. And the orange juice containers in the bottom left are high ground, letting towers see over the obstacles around the workshop.
Build your main damage where it covers the slowed grass, and put vision-dependent towers such as Snipers or a Super Monkey on the containers. The juice vat gives you a good spot for Subs or a Buccaneer.
Save the rocket for a dense group of non-camo bloons. It cannot damage camo bloons, but its 50 damage blast and 3 second stun on up to 16 bloons can be very useful on a ceramic rush.
Because the pipes and grass make up a short track overall, it pays to concentrate your defense instead of spreading it out. A tight core of Ninja, Alchemist and Glaive covering the end of the pipes and the start of the grass gets the most out of the slow. Anything that leaks past that core will still be slowed for the rest of the grass, which gives a Spike Factory or a second damage tower time to finish it.
Best towers
- Ninja Monkey 4-0-1 and 2-0-4 near the slowed grass.
- Alchemist 4-2-0.
- Monkey Sub 2-0-4 in the juice vat.
- Sniper Monkey 4-0-2 or Super Monkey on the high-ground containers.
- Boomerang Monkey 4-2-0 near the end of the track.
- Spike Factory 2-0-5 (Perma-Spike): the slowed grass makes spikes even more effective.
- Monkey Village 2-2-0.
Best heroes
- Rosalia: the map is built around her, and the central area gives her good vantage points to move around.
- Quincy: cheap and reliable.
- Admiral Brickell: good with Subs in the vat.
- Geraldo: flexible shop items for a short map.
Easy and Medium
Build a Dart Monkey and your hero near the grass. Add a Sub in the vat, a Ninja for camo and an Alchemist for leads. A 4-0-1 Ninja and a Glaive near the slowed section win Medium.
Hard
Farm two Banana Farms. Build Ninja, Alchemist and Glaive covering the slowed grass, a 2-0-4 Sub in the vat and a 2-2-0 Village. Put a Super Monkey on the containers and add Sticky Bombs for MOABs.
CHIMPS
- Rounds 1 to 6: hero and a Dart Monkey covering the grass section.
- Rounds 7 to 18: a Monkey Sub in the juice vat, then a Ninja for camo before round 24.
- Rounds 19 to 30: an Alchemist next to the Ninja for the round 28 leads. Sub to 2-0-3.
- Rounds 31 to 45: Ninja to 4-0-1, Alchemist to 3-2-0, Sub to 2-0-4.
- Rounds 46 to 63: a 2-2-0 Village, a 4-2-0 Glaive near the slowed grass, and a Sticky Bomb Ninja by round 60. Use the rocket on round 63.
- Rounds 64 to 80: Alchemist to 4-2-0, a Super Monkey on the containers towards Sun Avatar, and a Spike Factory at the end of the grass.
- Rounds 81 to 100: a Sun Temple on the containers, more Sticky Bombs for 98 to 100, and a Perma-Spike as a safety net.
Impoppable
Farm early, then follow the CHIMPS core. The slowed grass and a Perma-Spike make the last rounds safer.
Other modes
- Deflation: Ninja, Alchemist and Glaive near the slowed grass.
- Military Only: Subs in the vat and Snipers on the containers.
- Half Cash: the short track punishes slow starts.
Dangerous rounds on this map
- Round 24: one camo green. The rocket cannot hit it.
- Round 28: six leads.
- Round 40: the first MOAB on a short track.
- Round 63: 122 ceramics. Use the rocket on the densest group.
- Round 76: 60 regrow ceramics. The slowed grass gives you a last chance.
- Round 78: camo ceramics and purples. Purples resist fire, energy and plasma, and the rocket cannot hit camos.
- Round 95: camo regrow purples and fortified leads, then MOABs and DDTs.
- Round 98: 30 fortified BFBs and 8 ZOMGs.
- Round 99: 60 MOABs and 9 fortified DDTs.
- Round 100: one BAD that ignores slows, including the grass.

Frequently asked questions
How do you launch the rocket on Tinkerton?
Tap it eleven times. It fires at the strongest bloon, dealing 50 explosion damage to up to 16 bloons and stunning them, but it cannot damage camo bloons.
Do bloons slow down on Tinkerton?
Yes. On the grassy path at the end of the track, bloons are slowed by 40%.
What is the best hero for Tinkerton?
Rosalia fits the map well. Quincy and Brickell are good alternatives.
Does Tinkerton have high ground?
Yes. The orange juice containers in the bottom left are high ground.
How much Monkey Money does Tinkerton give?
First-time medals pay 75, 125, 200 and 300 Monkey Money for the Easy, Medium, Hard and Impoppable/CHIMPS tiers. Replays pay one fifth.
Can water towers be placed on Tinkerton?
Yes, in the large vat of orange juice. The smaller vat with the swirly mixture cannot hold towers.
Is Tinkerton a hard Beginner map?
It is on the harder side because the track is short and obstacles block vision. The slowing grass and the high-ground containers make up for a lot of that.
