Farm Subsidy
Farm Subsidy in BTD6 makes your first Banana Farm each game $100 cheaper. Real prices per difficulty and why it matters for farm openings.
First Banana Farm each game costs 100 less.
Guide
Farm Subsidy makes the first Banana Farm you buy each game $100 cheaper. It is a third-row Support knowledge: you need 3 points spent in the Support tree plus More Valuable Bananas, and it costs one Knowledge Point with no Monkey Money.
The $100 is taken off before the difficulty multiplier, so the saving is a little bigger on Hard and Impoppable. Because Flat Pack Buildings is always unlocked before Farm Subsidy, your real prices with both active are: first farm $945 on Easy, $1,125 on Medium, $1,225 on Hard and $1,370 on Impoppable. Every later farm costs $1,040, $1,225, $1,325 and $1,470.
How it changes the game
Income compounds, so a cheaper first farm is worth more than its $100 face value. Getting your first Banana Farm a round earlier means that farm starts paying a round earlier, and the money it makes funds the next farm sooner. That is the whole point of the knowledge: it speeds up farm openings.
It shines in openings where the farm comes right after your first defence, for example a hero plus one tower and then an early farm around rounds 5 to 10 on Medium or Hard. On Half Cash, where every dollar is tight, it makes the first farm noticeably easier to reach.
The discount is spent the moment you place your first farm and does not return if you sell it. In games where you never build a farm, Farm Subsidy does nothing. In late game it is irrelevant, since you placed your first farm long ago.
Is it worth it?
Priority: good. For farm players it is an easy pick, and for everyone else it is required anyway: Farm Subsidy is the only way to Inland Revenue Streams and then Healthy Bananas, which gives free lives from Marketplaces and Central Markets.
In the third row it competes with Bigger Banks (bank capacity) and Monkey Education (XP). If you mostly farm with regular farms and Marketplaces, take Farm Subsidy first. If you build banks, Bigger Banks is the bigger gain.
Where it works
Farm Subsidy works in every mode with Monkey Knowledge active, including Impoppable and Half Cash. It has no effect in CHIMPS, where both MK and farm income are disabled. Challenges that disable MK, some Odyssey maps and Rogue Legends also charge full price.
