Inferno Ring upgrade gets +3 burst radius.
Guide
Big Inferno is a third-row Primary knowledge that increases the range and the burst radius of Inferno Ring by 3 units each. It requires 5 Knowledge Points already spent in the Primary tree plus Poppy Blades. It costs one point, no Monkey Money, and has no knowledge below it.
How it changes the game
Inferno Ring (5-x-x Tack Shooter) pulses fire damage at everything within its radius and also shoots fireballs. Its power is tied directly to how long bloons stay inside that circle. A bigger circle means:
- More time on target: every bloon passing by spends a little longer in the burn zone, which adds damage on Ceramics and blimps.
- Better coverage on bends: a ring placed on a curve can reach a section of track it previously missed.
- More consistent blimp damage: Inferno Ring's ring attack hits MOAB-class bloons hard, and the extra reach lets it start earlier and finish later. A 5-2-0 build that adds the middle path's range upgrades gets even more out of the larger circle.
It does not change Inferno Ring's damage, attack speed or bloon-type coverage. On the Tack Shooter Paragon, the Crucible of Steel and Flame, the knowledge changes the displayed range but not its actual damaging area, so it is not a Paragon buff.
Is it worth it?
Priority: situational. If you build Inferno Ring defenses with the Tack Shooter top path, Big Inferno is a real buff, especially on maps where the ring sits on a corner. For everyone else, it is a dead-end node that mainly helps you reach point totals for deeper rows.
Compare it with other third-row Primary knowledge: Extra Bounce, Icy Chill and More Splatty Glue all lead to stronger nodes. Take those first unless you play top-path Tack often.
Where it works
Big Inferno works in every mode where Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Primary Only and Boss Events. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges whose rules turn knowledge off, so an Inferno Ring placement that just reaches a corner may not in CHIMPS.
