Support tower
Banana Farm
Generates Bananas each round that convert into game money to spend on more stuff.
Info
The Banana Farm is a Support tower that does not attack at all. Instead it produces cash. It costs $1,250 on Medium, and the base farm drops 4 bunches of bananas each round worth $20 each, for $80 per round. You have to collect the bananas by clicking or hovering over them before they spoil after 15 seconds, unless an upgrade collects them for you.
Because it deals no damage, the Banana Farm has no damage type and no Camo or Lead concerns. Its job is to fund the towers that do the popping.
The three paths
- Top path (Increased Production to Banana Central): more bananas. Increased Production and Greater Production raise the number of bunches to 6 and then 8, Banana Plantation doubles that to 16 bunches ($320 per round), Banana Research Facility produces 5 crates worth $300 each ($1,500 per round), and Banana Central makes each crate worth much more.
- Middle path (Long Life Bananas to Monkey-Nomics): banking. Long Life Bananas makes bananas last longer, Valuable Bananas makes every banana worth 25% more, Monkey Bank stores cash inside the farm and grows it with interest until you withdraw it, IMF Loan adds an ability that gives you a large loan you repay from future income, and Monkey-Nomics replaces it with a debt-free cash ability.
- Bottom path (EZ Collect to Monkey Wall Street): convenience. EZ Collect lets you collect from further away and gives half value for spoiled bananas, Banana Salvage collects spoiled bananas automatically and raises sell value, Marketplace pays out cash automatically with no collecting, Central Market raises each payout, and Monkey Wall Street adds a large extra payment and 15 lives every round.
Where farms work
Banana Farms cannot be used in CHIMPS, where income is disabled. They shine in Standard, Impoppable, Half Cash with care, co-op and especially boss events, where a strong economy decides how far you get.
Paragon
The Banana Farm has no Paragon.

How to use Banana Farm
The Banana Farm is the core of every economy strategy in Bloons TD 6. A farm costs money now and pays you back over the following rounds, so the key questions are when to buy, which path to take, and when to stop farming and spend on defense.
Best crosspaths
2-0-3 Marketplace
Marketplace pays out cash automatically every round, so you never need to collect bananas. The top path crosspath increases the number of payouts. This is the most popular "set and forget" farm.
2-0-4 Central Market
Central Market raises each Marketplace payout from $20 to $70, which is a big jump in income. Increased Production and Greater Production each add more payouts, so 2-0-4 is the standard crosspath.
3-2-0 Banana Plantation
16 bunches per round, worth 25% more with Valuable Bananas. Very strong income if you are willing to collect bananas, and a stepping stone to Banana Research Facility.
4-2-0 Banana Research Facility
Produces 5 crates worth $300 each, plus 25% with Valuable Bananas. One of the best income upgrades for its price.
2-3-0 or 0-3-2 Monkey Bank
Monkey Bank stores cash inside the farm, adds interest at the end of each round, and lets you withdraw whenever you want. It is strong when you can leave the money to grow for a few rounds. With Banana Salvage (0-3-2) the bank empties itself automatically when it is full.
0-4-2 or 2-4-0 IMF Loan
IMF Loan's ability gives you a large sum immediately, with an equal amount of debt that is repaid from your future income. Use it when you need a big upgrade right now, for example to buy a tier 5 a few rounds early.
Tier 5 options
Banana Central (5-x-x) produces very valuable crates, Monkey-Nomics (x-5-x) gives a debt-free cash ability, and Monkey Wall Street (x-x-5) adds a large payment and 15 lives every round.
Early game
In income modes, the usual plan is to build a cheap defense that can hold the next few rounds, then buy farms with every spare dollar. A farm bought early has more rounds to pay back its cost, so earlier farms are worth more.
Collect bananas as they drop, or buy the bottom path early if you do not want to click. EZ Collect and Banana Salvage are cheap and make sure you do not lose value from spoiled bananas.
Mid game
From the 20s to the 40s, keep upgrading farms where it makes sense:
- Marketplaces: turn existing farms into 2-0-3 Marketplaces, then 2-0-4 Central Markets as cash allows.
- Plantations and Research Facilities: if you collect manually, 3-2-0 and 4-2-0 give more per dollar.
- Banks: a few 2-3-0 Monkey Banks work well if you are comfortable waiting to withdraw.
At the same time, do not let your defense fall behind. A leak costs lives, and in Impoppable you have very few to spare.
When to stop farming
A farm has to pay back its cost before it makes a profit. The later in the game you buy one, the fewer rounds it has to do that. In a standard game to round 100, most players stop buying new farms somewhere in the 60s or 70s and switch their income into damage. In boss events and freeplay, farming for longer can be worth it.
Farming in boss events
Boss events reward a strong economy more than any other mode, because the boss keeps getting tougher and you need expensive towers or a Paragon to finish it. Most boss strategies build several farms in the first rounds, often with Benjamin, and convert them into Marketplaces, Central Markets or Banana Research Facilities as soon as possible. Some players also use Monkey Banks with IMF Loan to buy a key tier 5 a few rounds earlier than they otherwise could. Since boss tiers punish slow setups, getting your economy going in the first ten rounds matters a lot.
Late game
Late in the game, farms either keep paying for your defense or get sold. Banana Central and Monkey Wall Street are strong in long games and freeplay. Selling farms gives you a burst of cash for a final round, and Banana Salvage and Favored Trades from a Merchantman increase sell value.
Banana Farm in CHIMPS
Banana Farms cannot be used in CHIMPS, because income is disabled in that mode. Play a no-farm strategy and rely on pop income and end-of-round cash. For farming walkthroughs in other modes, see our videos on the BTD6 Master YouTube channel.
Best heroes and tower combos
- Benjamin: the money hero. He earns cash every round, boosts Monkey Banks and is one of the best heroes for farm-heavy games and boss events.
- Monkey Village: Monkey City (x-x-4) increases income from income-producing towers in its range, and Monkeyopolis takes it further.
- Druid: Jungle's Bounty earns extra cash for every Banana Farm in its range.
- Monkey Buccaneer: Merchantmen are another income tower that works on water maps.
Tier 5 upgrades: are they worth it?
Banana Central (5-x-x). Huge income, but expensive. Worth it in freeplay, boss events and long games.
Monkey-Nomics (x-5-x). A large debt-free cash ability. Strong in long games, but the cost takes many rounds to recover.
Monkey Wall Street (x-x-5). Strong passive income plus 15 lives each round. Good in long runs and boss events.
Common mistakes
- Buying farms too late. A farm bought in the 70s may never pay for itself.
- Letting bananas spoil. Collect them or use the bottom path.
- Over-farming. Too many farms with too little defense leads to leaks.
- Buying farms in CHIMPS. You cannot; plan a no-income strategy.
