How to use Favored Trades

Favored Trades raises income to $500 per round ($520 with Trade Agreements) and speeds up all of the boat's attacks. Its signature feature is a sell bonus: towers in its range, including itself, sell for 4% more per Favored Trades covering them, up to 3 stacks (+12%), with a cap of 95% of their cost. Damage now doubles at $10,000 cash and triples at $50,000 or more.

When to buy it

For raw income, Merchantman is more efficient, so upgrade to Favored Trades after you already have your Merchantman army, typically once 20 boats are buffed by a Trade Empire.

The sell bonus is where Favored Trades stands out:

  • In Boss Events, sell your income towers inside its range just before the boss arrives to get more cash for the fight.
  • When selling and rebuying expensive towers, for example to reset a MOAB Eliminator ability for boss burst damage.
  • Two stacks give a good balance of cost and bonus; three are only worth it for very expensive towers.
  • A Special Poperations with the Door Gunner Monkey Knowledge can carry a Favored Trades over land to add a stack anywhere on the map.

Leave it uncrosspathed for pure income. If you need damage, 0-2-4 is the clear choice: higher-pierce burning grapes. A fleet of 0-2-4 boats also builds up lots of pops and cash, which is great Paragon power for a high-degree Navarch of the Seas later.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as the sell-value booster and as the step to Trade Empire. As a damage tower it is weak.
