How to use Navarch of the Seas
Navarch of the Seas is the Monkey Buccaneer Paragon, combining Carrier Flagship, Pirate Lord and Trade Empire. It is a floating fortress: one of the highest-damage Paragons, a blimp-hooking machine that can delete BADs on demand, and an income and support tower at the same time.
What it does
Six turrets. Three on each side, each covering a 180 degree arc in front of it. Every turret fires volleys of three exploding cannonballs and six grapes. At degree 1 both fire every 0.25 seconds, with bonus damage against MOAB-class and Boss Bloons.
Three fighter planes. Permanent planes that fly around the map firing a stream of darts at Bloons in front of them, plus volleys of four homing missiles whenever blimps are on the map.
Passive hooks. Ten automatic hooks grab and instantly destroy MOAB-class Bloons below a BAD. A ZOMG takes two hooks. After all ten have fired, they go on a 10 second cooldown.
Large BAD Harpoon. The activated ability reels in the strongest blimp on screen and destroys it instantly, BADs included, no matter how much health they have. It cannot target bosses or boss-spawned Bloons such as Dreadrock Bloons. It can be used up to twice per round, with a 30 second cooldown at degree 1.
Support and income
- $3,200 at the end of every round, not affected by degree.
- Towers in its range sell for 12% more, replacing the Favored Trades bonus.
- Up to 40 Merchantmen and higher get +10 damage and extra income, stacking with Trade Empire's buff.
- Every other water tower and Monkey Ace, including the Goliath Doomship and Nautic Siege Core Paragons, gets 15% shorter attack cooldowns. This stacks with Carrier Flagship's buff.
- Two land platforms on the deck, just like Carrier Flagship. Towers already on a Carrier Flagship's platforms move over when you upgrade.
How to unlock it
Unlock the Paragon with Monkey Buccaneer XP, then have Carrier Flagship (5-x-x), Pirate Lord (x-5-x) and Trade Empire (x-x-5) on the map at the same time and choose the Paragon upgrade. It absorbs every Buccaneer on the map.
Degree
Degree goes from 1 to 100. It rises with the cash spent on absorbed Buccaneers and on the investment slider, extra tier 5 Buccaneers sacrificed, the damage and cash produced by absorbed boats, Paragon Power Totems and the Paragon Boost perk.
The Navarch is one of the easiest Paragons to max out. Cash generated counts heavily toward the power from absorbed towers, so a Trade Empire and Favored Trades farm builds a high degree without stealing pops from your defense. A fleet of 0-2-4 Favored Trades is a popular choice, since they both farm cash and pop Bloons. Pirate Lord hooks in later rounds also add a lot.
Best uses
- Freeplay: its strongest role. The harpoon deletes up to two Fortified BADs per round, the passive hooks clear huge numbers of blimps up to ZOMGs regardless of health, and its raw damage is among the best of any Paragon.
- Boss Events: often bought mainly for its attack speed buff to the Goliath Doomship. It also deals solid boss damage when Bloons are in range and handles Lych's zombie blimps, Vortex and Bloonarius's spawns well.
- Water-only Freeplay challenges: 40 buffed 0-1-4 Favored Trades become a serious damage source under the Navarch.
Drawbacks
The hooks destroy blimps instantly, which can steal pops that another Paragon needs for its own degree. Plan the order of your Paragons. It also ruins stall setups, because it removes blimps you wanted to keep alive.
Is it worth it?
Yes. It is expensive, but easy to get to a high degree with a boat farm, and it does almost everything: damage, BAD removal, income and buffs. For pure boss damage, other Paragons can be stronger, but few are as complete.
