Banana Farmer
Banana Farmer in BTD6 auto-collects bananas, crates and Bloon Trap cash in a 60-unit radius for 50 Monkey Money. Is it worth it, combos and limits.
Tired of picking up all those bananas yourself? So is this guy but at least he's paid to do it. Farmer will auto-gather all bananas in his radius so you don't have to.
Guide
The Banana Farmer is a small helper you place on land. For the rest of the game he automatically pulls in and collects every banana, crate and other collectable inside his radius, so you never have to tap them yourself. He costs 50 Monkey Money.
What the Banana Farmer does
- Placed like a tower on land, with a small footprint. He stays on the map until the game ends.
- Collects all collectables within 60 units: bananas from Banana Farms, crates from Banana Research Facilities and Banana Central, Cash Drop crates, and the cash from Engineer Monkey Bloon Traps.
- The Fit Farmers knowledge increases his radius by 20%.
- Shows a counter of the total cash he has collected, so you can see what he earned.
- Can be placed during the break between rounds.
He does not attack, does not buff towers and does not empty Monkey Banks. His only job is collecting, which matters more than it sounds: bananas that sit on the ground too long disappear, and every lost banana is lost cash.
How to get Banana Farmers
Buy them for 50 Monkey Money, or collect them from:
- Achievements such as Advanced Player (win your first game on an Advanced map, 1 Farmer plus 100 Monkey Money) and Unsung Monkeys (win 10 games with only Support monkeys, 2 Farmers).
- The Pro Power Challenge Quest, which also introduces Pro Powers.
- The More Money Pack and Fast Track Pack in the shop, and daily and event rewards.
Best times to use it
- As soon as you build your first farms. Place him in the middle of your farm cluster. From then on every banana is collected for you.
- Before fast forwarding a farming game. At high speed it is easy to miss bananas while you are busy upgrading. The Farmer removes that problem.
- Long games and freeplay. In games that last a hundred rounds or more, a single 50 Monkey Money Farmer pays for himself many times over in saved effort and lost bananas.
- Co-op. Collecting stays automatic even when you are busy helping teammates.
You do not need a Farmer for farms on the Monkey Bank path, which store cash instead of dropping it, or for the Marketplace and its upgrades, which pay cash straight into your account.
Best combos
- Banana Farms on the top path. Banana Plantations drop lots of bananas and the Banana Research Facility drops crates. These are exactly what the Farmer collects.
- Cash Drop. Drop the crate inside the Farmer's radius and he picks it up instantly.
- Engineer Monkey Bloon Trap. The cash from a full Bloon Trap counts as a collectable, so a Farmer near the track can gather it.
- Thrive. Boosted farm income is only worth something if it is collected. The Farmer makes sure it is.
- Multiple Farmers. If your farms are spread around the map, one Farmer per cluster is cheaper than moving farms.
Where you can't use it
- Disabled in CHIMPS, Races and ranked Boss Events.
- Disabled in challenges and Quests that turn Powers off, and in the editors' test mode.
- Not usable in Contested Territory, because there is no Banana Farmer Relic.
- In Odyssey and Rogue Legends only equipped Powers can be used.
Is it worth the Monkey Money?
For players who farm, yes. 50 Monkey Money is cheap for a permanent helper that removes the most tedious part of a farming game. It makes the biggest difference on mobile, in long freeplay games and anywhere you are busy managing a defence.
If you rarely build Banana Farms, or only use banks and Marketplaces, skip it. If you use Farmers a lot, buying and placing them also earns XP toward the Banana Farmer Pro. Its Pro version needs 10,000 XP, which works out to about 20 regular Farmers bought and used. The Pro Farmer has more range, collects faster and can be upgraded to boost your farms directly.
Fit Farmers is a cheap knowledge point that only matters if you place Farmers often. Note that it does not affect the Banana Farmer Pro.
