Guide

The Sword of Protection is a premium Power from the Masters of the Universe collaboration, added in version 48.0. Drop it on the map and She-Ra's sword hovers over the centre of the screen for 60 seconds, firing a rapid stream of light beams at Bloons. In the main version of BTD6 it is not sold for Monkey Money: you get it from real-money packs or a few free Quest rewards.

What the Sword of Protection does

  • After a short She-Ra animation, the sword appears in the middle of the map and stays for 60 seconds.
  • It fires beams of light in very quick succession, five per volley. Each beam deals 3 damage, hits up to 8 Bloons and can pop every Bloon type, including Camo and Lead.
  • The five beams in each volley target differently: first, second, last, close and strong. That spreads the damage across the whole track.
  • It has global range and ignores line-of-sight blockers.
  • While the sword is active, the She-Ra and Prince Adam hero skins get 25% shorter ability cooldowns (added in version 55.0). The normal versions of those heroes do not get this bonus.

The beams work much like Adora's Ball of Light, which fits the She-Ra theme: Adora is the hero behind the She-Ra skin.

How to get the Sword of Protection

  • Free: the She-Ra to the Rescue! Quest gives 3, and He-Man Has The Power! gives 5.
  • Shop packs: the Sword of Protection Power Booster, the She-Ra Prestige Pack and the Masters of the Universe Booster Pack each include 30 uses.
  • BTD6+ and the Netflix version: these have no shop, so the Sword is bought for 500 Monkey Money there.
  • Rogue Legends: it can appear as a Boost costing $1,800 of in-run cash. These do not carry over to the main game.

Best times to use it

Sixty seconds of steady, global damage makes it a strong round-saver for mid-game problems:

  • Round 63, 76 or 78 Ceramic rushes. Constant damage over a full minute chips through Ceramics that a weak defence cannot handle.
  • Camo surprises. The beams pop Camo, so it covers a missing Camo detection for a whole minute.
  • Anti-stall. If a round drags because Bloons regrow or stall in your defence, the Sword finishes them off.
  • Rogue Legends Bloon Encounters and Mini Bosses, where its sustained damage speeds things up.

Its damage per beam is small, so it is not a blimp killer on late rounds. Use it where the problem is many small to medium Bloons.

Best combos

  • She-Ra skin for Adora. Her abilities come back 25% faster while the sword is out.
  • Prince Adam skin (He-Man). Gets the same cooldown bonus.
  • Glue Trap. Slowed Bloons stay on screen longer, so the sword hits them more often.
  • Sword of Power. He-Man's sword is the matching premium Power from the same collaboration.

Where you can't use it

Is it worth the money?

As a free bonus, it is a nice Power to have. Save your Quest copies for difficult medals, where a minute of global damage against Camo and Ceramics can rescue a run.

As a purchase, it is hard to recommend. It is never required for any medal, and regular Monkey Money Powers such as Super Monkey Storm and Monkey Boost solve the same problems. If you want the She-Ra skin anyway, the Prestige Pack includes 30 Swords, which makes the Power a bonus rather than the reason to buy.
