Hero
Ezili
“Hahaha! What is your will?”
Info
Ezili is the voodoo hero who curses bloons with damage over time. She costs $550 on Medium ($470 Easy, $595 Hard, $660 Impoppable) and is bought for 3,000 Monkey Money once you reach player level 25. She levels at a moderate rate (1.425x XP scale).
Attack and damage type. Her curse hits its target instantly, ignores line-of-sight blockers and also damages up to 5 nearby bloons. Cursed bloons then take damage over time. She has camo detection from level 1 and pops Lead, which makes her the cheapest hero or tower that handles camo Lead bloons from the start. Her one blind spot is Purple Bloons: she cannot pop them unless her Heartstopper ability is active or a buff such as Monkey Intelligence Bureau gives her another damage type.
Role. Ezili is a MOAB specialist. Her curse deals big damage to MOAB-class bloons from level 6, and MOAB Hex from level 10 melts a blimp by a percentage of its health every second, so she gets stronger the tougher the blimps are. She also strips Camo, Regrow and Fortified from normal bloons at level 9, and her Sacrificial Totem is a powerful (but life-costing) area buff, especially for Wizard Monkeys. Many players consider her one of the best heroes for deep Freeplay because level 20 MOAB Hex can kill BADs.
Key power spikes.
- Level 3: Heartstopper, global grow block and temporary Purple popping.
- Level 4: her area attack also curses, so she hits groups.
- Level 6: 20 main attack damage and 30 damage-over-time ticks against blimps.
- Level 7: Sacrificial Totem.
- Level 9: strips Camo, Regrow and Fortified from non-MOAB bloons.
- Level 10: MOAB Hex, 4% of the blimp's health plus 1 every second for up to 25 seconds.
- Level 12: longer Heartstopper, 30 main attack damage to blimps.
- Level 16: Sacrificial Totem lasts 60 seconds and costs only 1 life, and her attack removes camo from DDTs.
- Level 20: MOAB Hex deals 5% per second, works on BADs and has a 40-second cooldown.
Monkey Knowledge that helps. Self Taught Heroes and Empowered Heroes speed up a slow early game. Ability Discipline shortens MOAB Hex, Heroic Reach and Quick Hands improve her curse, and Hero Favors drops her to $540 on Medium.

How to use Ezili
Ezili is cheap, sees camo from the start and becomes one of the best blimp killers among heroes. Her early game is her weak point, so the key is surviving until level 6 and level 10.
When to pick Ezili
Pick Ezili when:
- The late game is the hard part. MOAB Hex deals percentage damage, so it gets more valuable as blimps get tougher. At level 20 it even kills BADs.
- Camo Lead bloons are a problem early. She pops both from level 1 with no support.
- You want a cheap opener in CHIMPS. At $595 on Hard she is one of the cheapest heroes in the game, so she fits into an early CHIMPS opening alongside your first towers.
- You play Freeplay or long co-op games. Chaining MOAB Hex is one of the best ways to handle high-round BADs.
- Your defence uses Wizard Monkeys. Sacrificial Totem gives Wizards extra bonuses, and level 11 boosts Necromancer's undead bloons.
Skip her when Purples are the main threat and you have no other answer, or when the early rounds are very spread out, since her single-target curse struggles before level 4.
Leveling and power spikes
She uses a moderate XP scale (1.425x).
- Level 3 (Heartstopper): grow block and Purple popping on demand.
- Level 4: her splash curses multiple bloons. Her early game becomes much smoother here.
- Level 6: heavy blimp damage. From here she is a real MOAB answer for the round 40s and 50s.
- Level 9: strips Camo, Regrow and Fortified from the bloons she hits. Great against fortified ceramics.
- Level 10 (MOAB Hex): her signature ability.
- Level 12 to 15: stronger Heartstopper, more blimp damage, bigger splash and faster curse ticks.
- Level 16: cheap, long Sacrificial Totem and DDT decamo.
- Level 20: MOAB Hex on BADs every 40 seconds.
Place her as early as you can. Monkey Education, Self Taught Heroes and Monkeys Together Strong add XP, an Energizer (Monkey Sub 5-0-0) gives heroes in range 50% faster XP, and you can buy levels with cash, especially to reach level 10 before the first big blimp rounds.
Best tower combos
- Fast blimp damage plus MOAB Hex. Hex works best when other towers bring the blimp down quickly, because the curse also stops it from spawning children. Plasma Accelerator (Dartling Gunner 5-x-x) and the Unstable Concoction plus Perma-Spike combo are classic partners.
- Wizard Monkeys. Sacrificial Totem gives extra bonuses to Wizards, and from level 11 Ezili boosts the pierce of Necromancer's undead bloons, including Prince of Darkness.
- Purple answers. Sharp and explosive attacks pop Purples, for example Bomb Shooters, Dart Monkeys or Boomerang Monkeys. A Monkey Intelligence Bureau Village (x-3-x) also lets her pop them.
- Grow-blocking and ceramic damage. Her level 9 property stripping makes ceramics much easier for your other towers, so pair her with good ceramic poppers.
- Sun Temples in Freeplay. Sacrificial Totem's range and buffs boost key towers in very late games.
Best maps
- Maps with line-of-sight obstacles, since her curse ignores them. Expert maps such as Dark Castle and Flooded Valley have plenty of them.
- Short maps such as Sanctuary and Infernal, where a cheap hero with camo detection from level 1 saves you an early Village or Ninja.
- Any map for Freeplay, since MOAB Hex targets blimps anywhere on screen.
Her range is 40 at level 1, rising to 47 by level 15, so place her near the front of the track for the early game.
Ezili in CHIMPS
She is a strong CHIMPS pick and one of the few heroes you can buy on round 6. She handles camo and Lead early, which simplifies the first 30 rounds, but she needs help on spread-out early rounds before level 4 and on Purple rounds. Heartstopper is your emergency Purple and regrow tool.
Important: CHIMPS gives you only one life, and Sacrificial Totem costs lives (10, or 1 from level 16), so treat the totem as unusable in CHIMPS. Her late game is MOAB Hex plus her heavy blimp damage, which is excellent against ZOMG and DDT rounds once she has decamoed the DDTs at level 16.
Ezili in Impoppable and boss events
Impoppable also gives you one life, so the same totem warning applies. Monkey Knowledge is on, though, which fixes much of her slow start.
In Boss Events, MOAB Hex does not affect Boss bloons, but it does affect the MOAB-class bloons that bosses spawn. Her blimp damage helps clear those minions so your main damage can stay on the boss.
Abilities: when to use them
Heartstopper (level 3). For 10 seconds (20 from level 12), every Regrow bloon on screen is grow-blocked and Purples lose their immunity. The grow block continues for a while after the ability ends. Cooldown is 45 seconds, 40 from level 12. Use it on regrow-heavy rounds such as 61, 72, 76 and 79, and on Purple-heavy rounds.
Sacrificial Totem (level 7). Places a totem in her range that gives nearby towers extra pierce, range, attack speed, projectile speed and camo detection, with bonus effects for Wizards. It costs 10 lives (1 from level 16) and lasts 30 seconds (60 from level 16). Cooldown is 90 seconds. Use it on your hardest rounds in modes where you have lives to spare, and place it so it covers your best towers.
MOAB Hex (level 10). Curses a MOAB-class bloon anywhere on screen (up to ZOMGs and DDTs, BADs from level 20). The target takes 4% of its health plus 1 every second (5% at level 20) for up to 25 seconds, and it drops no children when it pops but still pays full cash. When the target pops, the curse moves to the next target. Cooldown is 60 seconds, 40 at level 20. Set her targeting to Strong before using it so it hits the toughest blimp, and use it early in the blimp wave so the full 25 seconds of damage counts.
Skins
Ezili's skins are cosmetic only and do not change her stats.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting Purples. She cannot pop them outside Heartstopper or a buff.
- Using Sacrificial Totem in single-life modes. It costs lives.
- Hexing a weak MOAB. Percentage damage is wasted on small blimps. Use Strong targeting.
- Placing her late. Her early game is weak and she needs levels 4, 6 and 10 as soon as possible.
- No DDT plan before level 16. Until then, her own attack cannot remove DDT camo.

Frequently asked questions
Is Ezili good in CHIMPS?
Yes. She is affordable on round 6, handles camo and Lead from the start and is one of the best blimp killers late. Plan a Purple answer and do not use Sacrificial Totem.
Can Ezili pop Purple Bloons?
Only while Heartstopper is active or with a buff such as Monkey Intelligence Bureau.
What does MOAB Hex do?
It curses a blimp so it loses 4% of its health plus 1 every second (5% at level 20) for up to 25 seconds, and it spawns no children when it pops.
Can MOAB Hex kill BADs?
Yes, from level 20. Before that it only affects blimps up to ZOMGs and DDTs, and it never affects Boss bloons.
Does Ezili have camo detection?
Yes, from level 1. From level 9 she also strips camo from normal bloons she hits, and from level 16 from DDTs.
Is Ezili good for Freeplay?
She is one of the best Freeplay heroes, because level 20 MOAB Hex keeps killing BADs at very high rounds.
