Round 45

Round 45 in BTD6: 25 Rainbows, 10 Camo Purples, 180 Pinks and 4 Fortified Leads, 2,289 RBE. Why it leaks and a plan to beat it.

Guide

Round 45 is a well-known difficulty spike. It opens with 25 Rainbow Bloons, then 10 Camo Purple Bloons, then a 35-second stream of 180 Pink Bloons, and finally the first 4 Fortified Lead Bloons of normal play, which arrive during the last pinks. At 2,289 RBE it is the heaviest round so far, and each group needs something different.

Bloons in round 45

  • 25 × Rainbow Bloon (0.0s–13.7s)
  • 10 × Camo Purple Bloon (14.3s–17.4s)
  • 180 × Pink Bloon (18.1s–53.1s)
  • 4 × Fortified Lead Bloon (50.6s–53.1s)

Total: 219 bloons worth 2,289 RBE. Popping everything pays $2,277, plus the $145 end-of-round bonus.

How to beat round 45

Break the round into its threats and cover each one.

  1. The 25 rainbows: they arrive in the first 14 seconds and need pierce plus sharp or magic damage for the zebra and black children.
  2. The 10 Camo Purples: purples resist fire, energy and plasma, so a Wizard Monkey with camo detection cannot pop them. You need camo detection on a sharp or explosive tower. A Ninja Monkey or a Radar Scanner village next to a Bomb Shooter both work.
  3. The 180 pinks: a long fast stream that rewards attack speed and First targeting. Bombs, tacks and boomerangs all chew through it.
  4. The 4 Fortified Leads: each takes four hits of lead-popping damage. They come late in the round, so make sure your lead-popper is still in range of the end of the track.

In CHIMPS, a reliable mix is a strong sharp core such as an upgraded Ninja Monkey or Tack Shooter, a Bomb Shooter for the pinks and leads, and a Radar Scanner village for the camo purples. The game hint after round 45 warns that Fortified Ceramics are next.

Alternate Bloons Rounds

ABR round 45 replaces the rainbows with 10 Ceramics and shortens the pink stream to 120, for 1,854 RBE. The camo purples and fortified leads remain.

  • 10 × Ceramic Bloon (0.0s–13.7s)
  • 10 × Camo Purple Bloon (14.3s–17.4s)
  • 120 × Pink Bloon (18.1s–38.1s)
  • 4 × Fortified Lead Bloon (35.0s–37.5s)

ABR total: 144 bloons, 1,854 RBE.
