How to pop Pink Bloon

Nothing is immune to damage against a Pink Bloon, so every tower pops it. Pinks leak because they are fast and come in large numbers, especially once Blacks, Whites and Purples start splitting into two Pinks each.

Which damage types work, and which towers struggle

Every damage type works. The towers that struggle are the same ones that struggle against Yellows, only more so:

  • Slow projectiles such as Bomb Shooter bombs and basic glue globs can land behind a Pink.
  • Short range towers on straight track only get one attack before the Pink is past.
  • Camo Pinks (Rounds 47 and 53) need camo detection, and frozen Pinks cannot be hit by sharp attacks.

Towers that deal with speed well are those that hit instantly, hit a large area or slow bloons: Sniper Monkeys, Ice Monkeys, Glue Gunners, Spike Factories and Tack Shooters placed on corners.

Early game (Rounds 15 to 26)

Pinks first show up on Round 15, but the first real Pink test is Round 19 (15 Pinks, 10 Greens and 9 Yellows) followed by Round 21 (40 Yellows and 14 Pinks).

  1. Put a Glue Gunner or an Ice Monkey ahead of your damage. Halving a Pink's speed doubles the number of shots your other towers get.
  2. Give the Dart Monkey line some range. 0-0-2 Enhanced Eyesight adds range and camo detection in one purchase.
  3. A Sniper Monkey can shoot anywhere on the map, which makes it a reliable backup against Pinks that slip past.

Mid game: Rounds 35 to 53

This is where Pinks become a real threat, because they arrive in bulk:

  • Round 35: 35 Pinks, 30 Blacks, 25 Whites and 5 Rainbows. The Blacks and Whites release 110 more Pinks.
  • Round 36: 140 Pinks and 20 Camo Regrow Greens. Fast, dense and partly Camo.
  • Round 45: 180 Pinks, 10 Camo Purples, 4 Fortified Leads and 25 Rainbows. Area damage is essential.
  • Round 47: 70 Camo Pinks and 12 Ceramics. You need camo detection that also has pierce, not one Ninja.
  • Round 48: 40 Regrow Pinks, 30 Camo Regrow Purples and 40 Rainbows.
  • Round 53: 80 Camo Pinks and 3 MOABs. Every Camo Pink that slips past costs 5 lives.

Good mid-game answers:

  • Monkey Village 0-2-0 Radar Scanner: gives camo detection to every tower in range, so your existing area damage can pop Camo Pinks.
  • Tack Shooter 4-0-0 Ring of Fire: a 5-damage ring that hits up to 30 bloons per shot, which pops a Pink outright. It is fire, so it cannot pop Purples.
  • Bomb Shooter: good area damage for the Pinks from Whites and Purples, but remember it cannot pop Blacks or Zebras.
  • Ice Monkey with 1-0-0 Permafrost: slows everything that has been frozen once by 50% after it thaws.

Late game

Pinks keep appearing as children of Black, White and Purple layers inside Ceramics and MOAB-class bloons. If they leak late, add cleanup near the exit: a Spike Factory, a Sniper with x-2-x Shrapnel Shot or a 0-3-0 Blade Shooter.

Hero picks

Ezili hits targets instantly with her curse and has camo detection from level 1, so speed and Camo both stop mattering. Etienne gives every tower on the map camo detection at level 8 through his UAV, which covers Rounds 47 and 53 without a Radar Scanner. Gwendolin's flames handle dense groups and her level 3 Cocktail of Fire burns everything that crosses it.

Knowledge and powers

  • Glue Trap slows the first 300 bloons by 50% for 30 seconds.
  • Camo Trap removes camo from the first 500 Camo bloons, enough for Round 47 or 53 on its own. Bigger Camo Trap raises that to 600.
  • Monkey Boost doubles the attack speed of all towers for 15 seconds.

None of these work in CHIMPS, where Powers and Monkey Knowledge are disabled.

Mode notes

  • CHIMPS and Impoppable: one life and faster bloons on Hard. Rounds 47 and 53 are common losses for defenses that only have single-target camo detection.
  • Alternate Bloons Rounds: Round 47 sends 70 Camo Regrow Pinks, which need both camo pierce and regrow control. Round 53 sends 120 Camo Pinks.

Common mistakes

  1. Counting only the Pinks the round sends and forgetting the Pinks inside Blacks, Whites and Purples.
  2. Using a single Ninja as the only camo source when Round 47 sends 70 Camo Pinks at once.
  3. Relying on Ring of Fire against Round 45 or 48 without anything that pops Purples.
  4. Placing glue or ice at the end of the track, where slowing bloons no longer helps your damage.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest bloon in BTD6?

Among regular bloons, the Pink Bloon at 3.5x the speed of a Red. Yellows (3.2x) and Purples (3x) are close behind.

What round do Pink Bloons appear in BTD6?

Round 15 in standard play. In Alternate Bloons Rounds, Black Bloons on Round 7 already release Pinks, and Pinks are sent directly from Round 12.

What bloons contain Pink Bloons?

Black, White and Purple Bloons each release two Pinks when popped.

How do I beat Round 47 in BTD6?

Round 47 is 70 Camo Pinks and 12 Ceramics. Give your area damage camo detection, for example with a 0-2-0 Radar Scanner Village or a level 8 Etienne, and keep enough damage for the Ceramics.

How many lives does a Pink Bloon cost?

Five lives, equal to its RBE of 5.
