Shrapnel Shot

Shrapnel Shot makes every bullet release 5 shrapnel pieces behind the target, in a 45 degree cone. Each piece deals 1 damage (+2 to Camo Bloons from Night Vision Goggles) and can hit 2 Bloons. Shrapnel does not hit the Bloon the bullet struck. The top path makes the shrapnel stronger, lets it pop Lead, and lets it apply weaker versions of the Maim MOAB and Cripple MOAB stuns.

When to buy it

Shrapnel turns the Sniper into a long-range group popper, but placement now matters. The shrapnel flies in the direction the Sniper is shooting, so the best spot is one where the Sniper fires into Bloons coming toward it: the shrapnel then lands on the Bloons behind the target. Both Strong and First targeting work, depending on the crosspath.

Common uses:

• 1-2-0 is one of the cheapest ways to handle groups of Camo Leads in the early game.
• 0-2-2 is a good early-game tower that cleans up camos.
• As a crosspath on Maim MOAB and Cripple MOAB (4-2-0, 5-2-0) it stuns many blimps at once.
• On Semi-Automatic and above (0-2-3 and up) it gives the best general damage, while the top path crosspath is better for single targets.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as the step to Bouncing Bullet and as a crosspath for most high-tier Snipers. For Deadly Precision it is usually the weaker crosspath.
