How to use Elite Sniper
Elite Sniper is the middle path tier 5 Sniper Monkey. It attacks 2.5 times as fast as Supply Drop (its cooldown is multiplied by 0.4) and gives every other Sniper Monkey on the map about 33% more attack speed. All Snipers also unlock Elite targeting, which works like this:
- Shoot First if any visible Bloon is at least 75% of the way to the exit.
- Otherwise, before round 81, shoot the strongest non-MOAB Bloon that splits into several children (Ceramic, Rainbow, Lead and so on).
- Otherwise, shoot Strong.
The cash crate now gives $3,000 instead of $1,100, and the ammo crate also buffs the two closest Snipers that have Shrapnel Shot or higher.
When to buy it
Elite Sniper is a strong mid-game tower for normal play that also makes a lot of money through its crates. On its own it is a cleanup tower: high attack speed and high pierce shred groups, but its single-target damage is weak. It loses some power against Super Ceramics but stays decent.
In CHIMPS the crate cash is gone, but it still anchors Sniper spam strategies:
- 0-2-5 Elite Defender with 0-2-4 Full Auto Rifles and a Permanent Brew, on maps where Snipers can shoot Bloons coming toward them (for example Infernal or Muddy Puddles).
- 2-0-5 Elite Defender with Bouncing Bullets, on maps without those spots.
Use the ammo crate on the hardest rounds, and place your two strongest Snipers right next to Elite Sniper so they get the buff.
0-5-2 is the recommended crosspath: more attack speed makes it more reliable and better with Berserker Brew. 2-5-0 is more self-sufficient but much weaker on maps with simultaneous lanes.
Is it worth it?
In standard games, yes: it is cheap for a tier 5 and pays for itself. In CHIMPS it is only worth it as part of a Sniper spam setup, since it cannot carry single-target rounds alone.
