Semi-Automatic

Semi-Automatic triples the Sniper's attack speed compared with Even Faster Firing. It now fires about every 0.26 seconds, roughly 6 times faster than an unupgraded Sniper. Damage per shot is unchanged, so the crosspath decides what all those shots actually do.

When to buy it

Its two crosspaths give it very different jobs:

• 0-2-3 is a group popper. With Shrapnel Shot it deals good, well-rounded damage in the early mid-game, but only on maps where it can be placed to shoot Bloons travelling toward it, such as Infernal. On maps like Bloody Puddles or Ouch it falls apart. A 3-2-0 Berserker Brew Alchemist gives it the damage, pierce and speed it needs.
• 2-0-3 is a single-target build for mid-game MOABs. It pops Lead and Zebras too, but it is expensive for that job and struggles badly with round 36. Against groups of MOABs it is not reliable.

For pure MOAB and Ceramic damage, a 3-0-2 Deadly Precision is cheaper and stronger than a 2-0-3 Semi-Automatic.

Is it worth it?

As the step to Full Auto Rifle and Elite Defender, yes. As a final tower, only 0-2-3 on a good map with Alchemist support gives strong value.
