How to use Full Metal Jacket
Full Metal Jacket doubles the Sniper Monkey's damage from 2 to 4 and changes its damage type so it can pop Lead and Frozen Bloons. With Shrapnel Shot as a crosspath, every shrapnel piece also pops Lead and deals 2 damage instead of 1.
When to buy it
It is one of the most dependable early Lead answers in the game. A single Full Metal Jacket handles the Leads of rounds 28 and 30 on almost every map. On short maps you will want more for rounds 37 and 38: add Fast Firing or buy a second one. Targeting Strong keeps it on the toughest Bloons.
Common builds:
- 1-1-0 is a very cheap answer to early Camo Leads, including in Alternate Bloons Rounds.
- 1-2-0 sprays Lead-popping shrapnel into groups, though it only works well when it shoots Bloons head-on.
- As a crosspath it helps every bottom path Sniper with single-target damage and layer skipping, and it gives middle path Snipers Lead popping on all shots.
Is it worth it?
Yes. It is cheap, solves Lead early, and is the step to Large Calibre and Deadly Precision. The only downside as a crosspath: middle path Snipers that take it can no longer use Geraldo's Sharpening Stone.
