Tiny Tornadoes
Tiny Tornadoes in BTD6: Druid of the Storm tornadoes split into 3 mini-tornadoes when they expire. Effect, limits, v57 change and if it is worth 1,000 MM.
Druid tornadoes spawn 3 smaller tornadoes when they expire.
Guide
Tiny Tornadoes is a sixth-row Magic knowledge that makes every tornado from Druid of the Storm split into three mini-tornadoes when it expires. The minis fly out 120 degrees apart and blow back the bloons they hit. You need 8 Knowledge Points in the Magic tree, both Deadly Tranquility and Vine Rupture, and a one-time 1,000 Monkey Money. It has nothing below it. It was added in version 15.
How it changes the game
Druid of the Storm (3-x-x Druid) throws tornadoes that pick up bloons and blow them back along the track. With Tiny Tornadoes, each tornado gets a second life:
- Mini-tornado stats: each has 5 pierce and blows bloons back between 33 and 300 units.
- More total blowback: three extra small tornadoes per big one means a Druid of the Storm moves far more bloons back per minute, which buys time for your damage towers.
- Spam setups: players who place several top-path Druids create a constant swirl of tornadoes, which can stall dense rounds.
Limits and quirks:
- Mini-tornadoes cannot blow back Lead Bloons, MOAB-class bloons, or bloons with White or Purple properties.
- Since version 57, mini-tornadoes ignore bloons that are immune to their damage type instead of wasting pierce on them.
- They fly out in three directions, so they can occasionally scatter a tight group in a way that makes it harder for area-damage towers to hit.
Is it worth it?
Priority: situational. It is a fun and sometimes powerful stall for top-path Druid players, but few mainstream strategies depend on it. The unlock route is also expensive: you need both the Ninja column (through Deadly Tranquility) and the Druid column (through Vine Rupture), plus 1,000 Monkey Money.
Most players buy it last in the Magic tree. Mana Shield, the other sixth-row Magic knowledge, is a much higher priority.
Where it works
Tiny Tornadoes works wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Magic Monkeys Only, Impoppable and freeplay. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off. If the extra tornadoes get in the way, you can toggle this knowledge off individually since version 57.
