Longer Boosts

Longer Boosts makes the Monkey Boost power last 20 seconds instead of 15. It is a third-row Powers knowledge that needs 3 points in the Powers tree and Longer Time Stop, and costs one Knowledge Point with no Monkey Money. The bonus was raised from +3 to +5 seconds in version 46. It does not affect the Hype Boost Monkey power.

How it changes the game

Monkey Boost doubles the attack speed of every tower on the map while it is active. That is one of the strongest short-term effects in the game, so a 33% longer boost is a meaningful buff whenever you use it.

How it helps:

• Hard rounds. One boost on a dense ceramic or blimp round can be the difference between a clean round and a leak. Five extra seconds covers more of the wave.
• Boss Events (non-ranked). Activating a boost while a boss is inside your strongest towers' range gives more damage per boost.
• Stacking with abilities. Combining a boost with Overclock, Call to Arms or tier 5 abilities is easier when the boost lasts longer.
• Back-to-back boosts. With 20 seconds per boost, you have time to open the Powers menu and place the next one before the first runs out.

Monkey Boost does not add damage on its own, so it is only as good as the defence it speeds up. Use it on the round that is actually hard, not spread across easy rounds. Like every Power, it does nothing in games where you do not use it.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good. Even if you rarely use Monkey Boost, you will want this knowledge because it leads directly to Pre-Game Prep, the most useful knowledge in the Powers tree, and it is one of the two parents of Powerful Monkey Storm.

In the third row, it is the clear first pick, ahead of Supersize Glue Trap. A quick route: Just One More, Longer Time Stop, one more top-row point to reach 3 in the tree, then Longer Boosts.

Where it works

This knowledge only matters where both Monkey Knowledge and Powers are allowed. Powers cannot be used in CHIMPS, Races or ranked Boss Events, and challenge creators can disable them. In Contested Territory, MK is only active on regular tiles. Rogue Legends never uses MK.
