Gorgon Storm

Gorgon Storm is a third-row Military knowledge that makes the rockets from the Dartling Gunner's Rocket Storm ability stun what they hit: regular bloons for 0.5 seconds per rocket, MOAB-class bloons for 0.1 seconds. You need 4 Knowledge Points in the Military tree and Emergency Unlock. It costs one point, no Monkey Money, and unlocks Cross the Streams. It was added in version 22.

How it changes the game

Rocket Storm (x-4-x Dartling Gunner) has an activated ability that fires a large barrage of missiles over a few seconds. M.A.D. (x-5-x) keeps the ability. With Gorgon Storm, every rocket in that barrage also stuns:

• Bloon rushes: each rocket freezes the bloons it hits in place for half a second. With many rockets landing over the ability's duration, dense groups are held in place long enough for the barrage, and your other towers, to finish them.
• Blimps: the stun per rocket on MOAB-class bloons is only 0.1 seconds, but many rockets hitting the same blimp in quick succession still add up to a noticeable stall. This was reduced from 0.5 seconds in version 29 because it was outperforming dedicated stun towers.
• BADs and Boss Bloons: version 56 fixed a bug that let it stun BADs. They are not stunned.

Only the ability rockets get the stun. The Dartling's normal missile attack, other Dartling paths and other towers are not affected. The knowledge does not change rocket damage or the ability's cooldown.

Is it worth it?

Priority: situational. If you use Rocket Storm or M.A.D. and time the ability for heavy rounds, Gorgon Storm adds real control on top of the damage. Players who rarely build middle-path Dartlings will not notice it.

It is the parent of Cross the Streams, which helps top-path Dartling Gunners. Neither node leads further, so the Emergency Unlock column is a self-contained branch that you can leave for later. Most players prioritize the naval and air columns of the Military tree, which lead to Military Conscription, Advanced Logistics and Big Bloon Sabotage. Still, these two cheap nodes are useful filler to reach the 8 and 14 point thresholds.

Where it works

Gorgon Storm is active wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled, including Military Only, Impoppable and Boss Events, where it still helps against the blimps and bloons that come with the boss. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off.
