Rocket Storm adds 2 pierce to both the Hydra missiles and their explosions, so each missile explodes more times. It also adds the Rocket Storm ability, which fires waves of purple missiles that weave around and deal high damage with low pierce, ideal for bursting tough bloons and blimps.

Crosspath effects:

• Focused Firing: improves the accuracy of all attacks, including ability rockets, by 60%.
• Powerful Darts: missiles and explosions each gain 2 more pierce, the blast radius grows from 8 to 12, and the ability rockets gain 4 pierce.
• Laser Shock: only the main missile applies shock, without bonus shocked damage.

When to buy it

Rocket Storm is a strong mid-game carry when you micro it. Save the ability for difficult rounds and blimp waves, and aim the Dartling where the toughest bloons will be when you activate it. The basic Hydra attack covers most rounds between abilities, except steady streams of MOABs and dense ceramics.

Crosspaths:

• 1-4-0: recommended. Better accuracy makes the ability rockets focus on single targets.
• 0-4-2: more pierce on everything, good against groups.

It is also the save-up tower toward M.A.D.

Is it worth it?
