How to use Laser Cannon
Laser Cannon replaces the Dartling's darts with lasers. Each laser deals 2 Energy damage with 6 pierce and +2 against MOAB-class bloons, and travels faster. Energy damage pops frozen bloons, but not purple bloons. The shock from Laser Shock lasts a second longer, and Powerful Darts adds 3 pierce instead of 2, bringing it to 9.
When to buy it
Laser Cannon is mainly a step toward Plasma Accelerator rather than a strong tower on its own. Hydra Rocket Pods are more efficient against groups, and the purple weakness can be a problem.
Where it does shine: if you have no blimp debuffs, several Laser Cannons can be the most cost-efficient Dartlings to spam against single blimps.
- 3-2-0: Faster Barrel Spin gives about 50% more attack speed plus camo detection. The usual choice, since the top path already has good pierce.
- 3-0-2: more pierce and faster swivel, mostly to help with micro.
Is it worth it?
Buy it on the way to Plasma Accelerator. For a standalone mid-game tower at $3,000, other options handle groups better.
