Bigger Banks

Bigger Banks in BTD6 adds $2,500 to Monkey Bank capacity: $9,500 for banks, $12,500 for IMF Loan and Monkey-Nomics. When to collect and why it matters.

Monkey Banks can hold 2500 extra money.

In-game description

Guide

Bigger Banks raises the maximum balance of every Monkey Bank by $2,500. A 0-3-0 Monkey Bank can hold $9,500 instead of $7,000, and IMF Loan and Monkey-Nomics can hold $12,500 instead of $10,000. It sits in the third row of the Support tree, needs 3 points spent in Support plus Insider Trades, and costs one Knowledge Point with no Monkey Money.

How it changes the game

Monkey Banks earn interest on their balance at the end of each round, and that interest stops once the balance hits the cap. A bigger cap means the bank keeps compounding for longer before you have to collect. That is more money from the same tower, with no extra cost.

The practical rule changes too. Without the knowledge you collect as soon as a bank is full at $7,000. With Bigger Banks it pays to wait. Collecting a Monkey Bank somewhere above roughly $8,800, or an IMF Loan above roughly $11,500, gets most of the extra value without wasting a round sitting at the cap.

The effect is largest on 0-3-0 Monkey Banks, because $2,500 is a 36% bigger cap for them. IMF Loans gain 25%. In a bank farm with six to ten banks, Bigger Banks easily adds thousands of dollars over a game, which is why bank players treat it as essential.

Early game, Bigger Banks does nothing until your banks actually fill up, which usually takes several rounds after you build them. It is a mid and late-game knowledge.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good, and a must-have if you farm with banks. Anyone who uses Monkey Bank, IMF Loan or Monkey-Nomics should take it as early as possible. It also leads to Backroom Deals, then Better Sell Deals and Bank Deposits, so even players who never build banks need it to reach those.

In the same row, Farm Subsidy helps the opening and Monkey Education helps heroes, but Bigger Banks has the biggest long-term payoff of the three for economy players.

Where it works

Bigger Banks works in all modes where Monkey Knowledge is on, which includes Impoppable, Half Cash and Boss Events. In CHIMPS both MK and income towers are disabled, so banks are not an option there. Challenges with MK turned off and Rogue Legends use the normal capacity.
