Round 3

Round 3 mixes 25 Red Bloons with the first 5 Blue Bloons of the game. It is also the opening round of Hard mode and of Alternate Bloons Rounds, which makes it the real start of most serious games. The blues sit in the middle of the round between two groups of reds, so the round stays light at 35 RBE.

If you are playing on Hard, round 3 is where your starting cash goes, so placement matters more than the bloons themselves.

Total: 30 bloons worth 35 RBE. Popping everything pays $35, plus the $103 end-of-round bonus.

How to beat round 3

A single Dart Monkey or your hero handles this round comfortably. A Blue Bloon takes two hits, but five of them spread over a couple of seconds are no threat.

• On Hard, place your hero right away. Heroes such as Quincy, Obyn or Sauda carry the first stretch of the game on their own on many maps.
• Spend the rest on one damage tower you plan to keep, rather than several cheap monkeys you will sell later.
• If you are setting up a farm, round 3 is the earliest comfortable moment to buy the first Banana Farm on Hard.

Nothing here needs special damage types or camo detection.

Alternate Bloons Rounds

Round 3 is the first round of Alternate Bloons Rounds on Hard. Instead of plain blues it already includes Regrow Blue Bloons, so cheap towers that pop slowly can let bloons regrow back up to blue.
