How to beat Monkey Meadow

Map overview for strategy

Monkey Meadow is easy because nothing gets in your way. There is no water to plan around, the trees only matter for towers aimed at the corners, and the two crossings in the middle of the map give central towers a lot of track to cover. Almost every tower in the game works here.

Its only real weakness is length. At under 33 RBS, bloons do not stay on screen for long, so on Hard and CHIMPS you need a bit more damage than on a long map like Logs.

The best spots are around the central corners and crossings, where short-range towers such as Ice Monkeys, Tack Shooters and Sauda hit bloons on several passes. Long-range towers and a Prince of Darkness have strong central spots that cover most of the defense and the exit. Near the end of the track there is a comfortable spot for a Perma-Spike set to Smart, which catches leaks without wasting spikes on big blimps.

Best towers

Best heroes

  • Quincy: the starter hero is genuinely good here. Cheap, consistent and great on the straights.
  • Sauda: at a central crossing she hits bloons going several directions.
  • Obyn Greenfoot: good with Ninjas, Druids and Wizards.
  • Gwendolin: strong early and pairs well with Tack Shooters.

Easy and Medium

A Dart Monkey and Quincy near the first crossing carry the first 15 rounds. Add a Ninja for camo, a Bomb Shooter or Mortar for leads, and Banana Farms on the open grass. A 4-0-1 Ninja and a Glaive are more than enough for Medium.

Hard

Farm two or three Banana Farms on the grass. Build a central core of Tack Shooter, Ninja and Alchemist with a 2-2-0 Village. Add Sticky Bomb Ninjas or a Mortar for MOABs, and a Perma-Spike near the exit for rounds 76 to 80.

CHIMPS

Monkey Meadow is one of the most commonly beaten CHIMPS maps.

  1. Rounds 1 to 6: Quincy or Sauda at a central crossing, plus a Dart Monkey near the entrance.
  2. Rounds 7 to 18: a Ninja Monkey at the crossing, upgraded to 2-0-1 before round 24.
  3. Rounds 19 to 30: an Alchemist beside the Ninja for the round 28 leads.
  4. Rounds 31 to 45: Ninja to 4-0-1, Alchemist to 3-2-0. Add a Tack Shooter at the second crossing.
  5. Rounds 46 to 63: a 2-2-0 Village, a 4-2-0 Glaive, and a 2-0-4 Sticky Bomb Ninja by round 60.
  6. Rounds 64 to 80: Alchemist to 4-2-0, a second Sticky Bomb, and a Spike Factory near the exit working towards Perma-Spike.
  7. Rounds 81 to 100: a Sun Temple or Prince of Darkness in a central spot, plus more Sticky Bombs for 98 to 100. Keep camo coverage over your core for rounds 95 and 99.

Impoppable

Farm heavily on the open grass, then copy the CHIMPS core. A Sun Temple placed centrally and a Perma-Spike at the exit make the last ten rounds much safer.

Other modes

  • Deflation: a central Tack, Ninja, Alchemist and Glaive get great value.
  • Primary Only: Tack Shooters and Ice Monkeys at the crossings, Glaives and Bomb Shooters for MOABs.
  • Half Cash: Quincy and two Dart Monkeys early, then farms.
  • Apopalypse: the central crossings handle constant waves well.

Dangerous rounds on this map

  • Round 24: one camo green and 20 blues. New players often lose a life here without camo detection.
  • Round 28: six leads. Dart Monkeys and Tack Shooters without upgrades cannot pop them.
  • Round 40: the first MOAB. The short track means it reaches the exit quickly.
  • Round 63: 122 dense ceramics. The crossings help, but one tower is not enough.
  • Round 76: 60 regrow ceramics in a fast burst.
  • Round 78: camo ceramics and purples. Purples resist fire, energy and plasma.
  • Round 95: camo regrow purples and fortified leads, then MOABs and DDTs.
  • Round 98: 30 fortified BFBs and 8 ZOMGs, the heaviest round of the game.
  • Round 99: 60 MOABs and 9 fortified DDTs.
  • Round 100: one BAD that ignores slows.

Frequently asked questions

Is Monkey Meadow the easiest map in BTD6?

It is one of the easiest, with no water, almost no obstacles and two crossings. Longer maps like Logs and Cubism give your towers more time, so some players find them easier for CHIMPS.

What is the best hero for Monkey Meadow?

Quincy is all you need on Easy and Medium. Sauda and Obyn are strong for Hard and CHIMPS.

How do you beat Monkey Meadow CHIMPS?

Build a central core of Ninja, Alchemist and Tack Shooter, add a Village, Glaive and Sticky Bombs, then finish with a Sun Temple or Prince of Darkness.

Does Monkey Meadow have water?

No. Water towers need a Portable Lake or Pontoon power.

How much Monkey Money does Monkey Meadow give?

First-time medals pay 75, 125, 200 and 300 Monkey Money for the Easy, Medium, Hard and Impoppable/CHIMPS tiers. Replays pay one fifth.

Is Monkey Meadow good for farming XP?

Yes. Games are quick, almost any strategy works, and it is a good map for leveling new towers on Easy or Medium before trying harder maps.
