Guide

Round 40 is a single MOAB, the first MOAB-class bloon of the game. A MOAB has 200 health, moves slowly and releases 4 Ceramic Bloons when destroyed, so the round is worth 616 RBE. It is the final round of Easy mode. On Medium and Hard it marks the point where MOAB damage becomes a permanent requirement. On Easy the MOAB has slightly less health.

How to beat round 40

You need enough damage to break 200 health before the MOAB reaches the exit, plus enough mixed damage to handle the four ceramics it drops. A leaked MOAB costs enough lives to end the game on most difficulties.

  1. Bomb Shooter 0-3-0: MOAB Mauler deals heavy bonus damage to MOAB-class bloons and is the classic round 40 answer.
  2. Sniper Monkey 2-x-x: Large Calibre deals big single hits from anywhere on the map.
  3. Alchemist 2-x-x: Acidic Mixture Dip gives nearby towers bonus damage against MOABs and ceramics.
  4. Glue Gunner x-x-3: MOAB Glue slows the MOAB so your towers get more time.
  5. Hero abilities: many heroes have an ability that shreds a single MOAB. Save it for this round.

Place MOAB damage near the start of the track so the four ceramics are released with plenty of track left. Make sure your regular defence can handle four ceramics at once, since they are released together.

In CHIMPS, round 40 is usually beaten by a combination of a strong primary tower and a hero ability rather than by a dedicated anti-MOAB tower.

Alternate Bloons Rounds

ABR round 40 is a single Fortified MOAB with 400 health instead of 200, for 856 RBE. You need roughly twice the MOAB damage of the standard round.
