Daily Challenges
BTD6 Daily Challenges explained: Standard, Advanced and Co-op challenges, rewards, achievements, how to read the rules and how to beat them.
Guide
Daily Challenges are hand-picked BTD6 games with fixed rules: a set map, a limited list of towers and heroes, a custom round range and sometimes extra modifiers such as faster bloons or no selling. Every day the game features a fresh Standard challenge and a fresh Advanced challenge, and a Co-op challenge is always running in the background. Beating them is one of the most reliable sources of free Monkey Money, Powers and Insta Monkeys in the game.
Most daily challenges are player-made. They come from the in-game Challenge Editor and get picked to be featured, which is why the difficulty and style change so much from one day to the next.
The three types of daily challenge
Standard Daily Challenge
The Standard daily is the one most players do every day. It is usually a normal game with a few twists: only some towers are allowed, a specific hero is forced or you get a tight round range. Most of them can be cleared on the first or second try with solid fundamentals. The reward is Monkey Money plus either a Power or a low-tier Insta Monkey (Tier 0 to 2).
Advanced Challenge
The Advanced Challenge stacks more rules on top. Typical modifiers are reduced starting cash, faster bloons or MOABs, increased Ceramic or MOAB health, all bloons Camo or Regrow, a tower cap such as "max 3 towers", disabled Monkey Knowledge, no selling, no Powers and no continues. Many Advanced Challenges today are short puzzles that last a single round or just a few rounds, while others are long grinds that run close to round 100.
Advanced Challenges reward Monkey Money plus a Power or a Tier 2 to 3 Insta Monkey. They do not give the usual round 100 Insta Monkey, and they do not give player XP or normal game progress. They do count for the daily challenge achievements.
Co-op Challenge
The Co-op Challenge is played in a Co-op lobby with other players. A new one appears twice a week, on Wednesday and Sunday, and each one stays up until the next arrives, so there is always one available. Co-op challenges are usually longer than the Standard daily and sometimes split the allowed towers between players, so one player might be the only one who can place a Village or a Sniper. Rewards are Monkey Money plus a Power or a Tier 2 to 3 Insta Monkey.
When do daily challenges reset?
A new Standard and Advanced challenge goes live every 24 hours. The challenge screen shows a countdown to the next one, so check that timer instead of guessing your local reset time. Co-op challenges follow their own Wednesday and Sunday rotation. Once a challenge rotates out, its reward is gone, so beat it on the day.
Rewards and achievements
The exact reward for each challenge is shown before you press play. On top of that, five achievements track your daily challenge history:
- Challenger: win 1 Daily Challenge (25 Monkey Money).
- Challenge Apprentice: win 10 Daily Challenges (100 Monkey Money and a Pontoon power).
- Challenge Master: win 100 Daily Challenges (500 Monkey Money).
- Perfect Week: complete at least one type of daily challenge on seven days in a row (250 Monkey Money). This is the closest thing the game has to a streak reward.
- The Daily Reid: win 365 unique daily challenges, with Standard, Advanced and Co-op all counting (a random Tier 5 Insta Monkey).
Over a year, simply clearing the Standard daily adds up to thousands of Monkey Money and a steady supply of Instas. If you only have time for one game a day, the daily is usually the best value per minute you can get. See our achievements guide for the full list.
How to read the challenge rules
Before you start, open the rules panel and check every line. Since version 17.0 you can also open the detailed rules during the game, so there is no excuse for missing a restriction. Here is what to look for:
- Map, difficulty and mode. Hard difficulty means higher prices and stronger MOABs late. A mode like CHIMPS or Half Cash changes everything.
- Start and end round. A challenge that starts on round 40 with $20,000 is a very different game from one that starts on round 1.
- Starting cash and lives. One life means you cannot leak a single bloon.
- Allowed towers and heroes. Each tower can have a maximum count and an upgrade cap written as a crosspath, for example 2-0-5 means the bottom path can go to tier 5 but the middle path is locked. Read more on crosspaths.
- Max towers. A global cap like "max 4 towers" makes every placement count, heroes included.
- Bloon modifiers. Bloon speed, MOAB speed, Ceramic health, MOAB health and Regrow rate are shown as percentages.
- Restrictions. Look for No Monkey Knowledge, No Selling, No Powers, No Continues, All Camo, All Regrow and Custom Rounds.
How to beat daily challenges
Check Camo and Lead coverage first
The most common way to lose a daily is not a lack of damage but a missing answer. Before placing anything, find which allowed tower can see Camo and which can pop Lead. In standard rounds the first Camo appears on round 24 and the first Leads on round 28, so you need both well before the midgame. If nothing allowed handles Camo, look for a hero with built-in detection or a de-camo upgrade.
Plan for the round range
Short challenges (ending around round 40 to 60) reward strong early towers over farming. Long challenges that reach round 80 or 100 usually need income, so if Banana Farms are allowed, start them early. If a challenge starts late with a big pile of cash, spend it on your MOAB answer first and fill in crowd control after.
Typical Advanced Challenge puzzles
Many Advanced Challenges reuse the same ideas, so it helps to recognize them:
- Hyperdense rounds such as 63, 76 or 78 packed into one or two rounds. Area control is the answer: first-path Glue Gunners, Glaive Lord's orbiting glaives, Primary Expertise or Spirit of the Forest.
- "Find the Camo" challenges where the only Camo answer is hidden in an odd upgrade or hero level.
- A single BAD on round 100 with limited towers. Here you need focused MOAB damage and often a stun or slow to buy time.
Use what the rules allow
If Powers and Insta Monkeys are not banned, they are fair game. A single high-tier Insta can trivialize a Standard daily. Save your best Instas for hard Advanced or Co-op challenges where they make the difference between a win and a loss.
Co-op tips
Agree on roles before round 1. One player takes the early defense, one builds income and one prepares the MOAB answer. Check which towers are locked to which player, because that decides who has to handle Camo or Lead.

Frequently asked questions
How many daily challenges are there in BTD6?
There are three: the Standard Daily Challenge, the Advanced Challenge and the Co-op Challenge. Standard and Advanced change every day, while Co-op changes on Wednesday and Sunday.
Do daily challenges give Insta Monkeys?
Yes. The Standard daily gives Monkey Money plus either a Power or a Tier 0 to 2 Insta Monkey, and the Advanced and Co-op challenges can give Tier 2 to 3 Insta Monkeys.
Can I replay a daily challenge after I fail?
Yes. There is no entry cost, so you can retry as often as you like until the challenge rotates out.
Do Advanced Challenges give XP?
No. Advanced Challenges do not give player XP, normal game progress or the round 100 Insta Monkey, but they still count for daily challenge achievements.
Can I play old daily challenges?
Most daily challenges come from the Challenge Editor, so you can often find the original by searching its exact title in the Challenge Browser. You will not get the daily reward again, though.
What is the best hero for daily challenges?
It depends on the rules, since many dailies force a hero. When the choice is open, pick a hero that covers what the allowed towers lack, such as Camo detection or early Lead popping.
