Glaive Lord

Glaive Lord is one of the strongest tier 5 upgrades for its price. It adds three orbiting glaives that damage everything close to the monkey, and it makes the thrown glaives much more dangerous.

• Orbiting glaives: an aura with 30 radius that hits up to 200 bloons every 0.05 seconds for 4 damage (+4 to ceramics). It hits camo bloons and covers the area right around the tower.
• Thrown glaives: 6 damage (+10 to ceramics), 60 pierce, an attack every 0.4 seconds, unlimited bounce distance, and they can hit the same bloon again after 0.6 seconds.
• Shredding effect: the first MOAB-class bloon each thrown glaive hits takes 100 damage per second for about 10 seconds.

When to buy it

Glaive Lord shines in the late game. The thrown glaives bounce all over the map and deal heavy damage to everything, while the orbit clears clumps of ceramics and MOABs that get close. Place it where the orbit covers as much track as possible.

• 5-2-0 is the strongest crosspath, cutting the cooldown to 0.2 seconds. It cannot pop lead or DDTs without support such as MIB.
• 5-0-2 adds +2 damage and the normal damage type to both attacks, so it pops lead and can hit DDTs when they are visible. Use it if you have no lead support.
• 5-0-1 increases range and the size of the orbit.

Is it worth it?

Yes. For $32,500 it offers excellent all-round damage, and it is one of the best tier 5 primary towers. Compared with Perma Charge it is cheaper and covers more of the map, and compared with MOAB Domination it deals more general damage but has no knockback. In CHIMPS it is a strong late-game damage dealer that still wants support against BADs. In Boss Events its shredding effect and bouncing glaives give decent damage, but it is not a top boss killer.
