Round 63
Round 63 in BTD6: 75 Leads and 122 Ceramics in three dense waves, 14,413 RBE. How to beat the infamous ceramic rush in CHIMPS.
Guide
Round 63 is the most famous difficulty spike in BTD6. A slow trickle of 75 Lead Bloons runs for the whole round, while 122 Ceramic Bloons arrive in three extremely dense waves: 40 at about 4 seconds, 40 at about 20 seconds and 42 at about 36 seconds. Each wave spawns in a fraction of a second, so it hits your defence as one solid block. At 14,413 RBE it is the first round over 10,000 RBE.
The first wave comes very quickly after you start the round, which catches out players whose abilities are still on cooldown.
Bloons in round 63
- 75 × Lead Bloon (0.0s–42.3s)
- 40 × Ceramic Bloon (3.9s–4.1s)
- 40 × Ceramic Bloon (20.1s–20.3s)
- 42 × Ceramic Bloon (36.4s–36.6s)
Total: 197 bloons worth 14,413 RBE. Popping everything pays $2,663, plus the $163 end-of-round bonus.
How to beat round 63
You need two things: enough pierce and damage to break a 40-ceramic block, and a way to slow the block so your towers get more time. The leads also need lead-popping damage, and they make life harder for sharp towers.
- Slow the waves. An Ice Monkey with the Icicles bottom path, such as 2-0-4, slows and damages the ceramic clumps while ignoring the leads. Even a cheap Ice Monkey in front of your damage buys time.
- Add high-pierce splash. A 2-0-4 Recursive Cluster Bomb Shooter on First or Strong breaks whole waves at once. Back it with an Alchemist at 3-x-x or 4-x-x for extra damage.
- Handle the leads and children. Explosive damage pops the leads, but the black and zebra children released by ceramics and leads need sharp or magic pierce behind your splash.
- Charge abilities before starting. Hero abilities and tower abilities such as a Tack Shooter Blade Maelstrom, timed for each wave, are a big part of most CHIMPS solutions.
If round 63 is on your mind, plan for it from round 55 onward. In CHIMPS you cannot sell for profit or farm, so every dollar before round 63 should go into towers that also help here.
Alternate Bloons Rounds

- 40 × Ceramic Bloon (3.9s–4.1s)
- 40 × Camo Ceramic Bloon (20.1s–20.3s)
- 5 × MOAB (36.4s–36.6s)
ABR total: 115 bloons, 14,820 RBE.
