How to use Icicles
Icicles turns the Cryo Cannon into a damage tower. It attacks every 0.75 seconds, each blast deals 2 damage (+8 to MOAB-class) and it can now target MOAB-class bloons, although it cannot freeze or slow them. Every bloon it damages has a 25% chance to grow an icicle, including white, zebra and MOAB-class bloons, but not lead.
An icicle is a spike carried by the bloon. It deals 6 shatter damage with 6 pierce to other bloons it touches (normal damage with the Cold Snap crosspath), can hit the same bloon again every 0.2 seconds and lasts as long as the freeze. Frozen bloons cannot be hit by icicles.
When to buy it
Icicles stands out in CHIMPS and in Races, because dense rounds make it spawn huge numbers of icicles that shred groups. Silas is its best hero: Icicles covers his white and early MOAB weaknesses and attacks fast enough to power his orbiting ice fragments. Elsewhere it is a decent mid-game tower for dense rounds with fair blimp damage.
- 0-2-4 is common for faster attacks and longer-lasting icicles.
- 2-0-4 adds lead and camo targeting and normal-type icicles.
Is it worth it?
Yes, especially on dense rounds and with Silas. It is also the step toward Icicle Impale.
