How to use Deep Freeze
Deep Freeze raises the Ice Monkey pierce from 40 to 45, freezes one extra layer and extends the freeze from 1.75 to 2.2 seconds. Status effects on other paths go one layer deeper as well:
- Permafrost slow reaches 3 layers.
- Ice Shards marks reach 3 layers and last 2.2 seconds.
- Embrittlement debuffs reach 4 layers and Super Brittle 7.
- Icicles last 2.2 seconds.
When to buy it
Deep Freeze is mainly a crosspath, as the small pierce and duration gains add little to Enhanced Freeze on a low-tier tower. It is the recommended crosspath for Ice Shards, and it is part of most x-2-x builds such as 5-2-0 Super Brittle and 0-2-5 Icicle Impale, where longer freezes mean longer stalls and longer-lasting icicles.
It also unlocks Arctic Wind, the start of the middle path stall towers.
Is it worth it?
Yes as part of an x-2-x crosspath. On a standalone low-tier Ice Monkey it is not worth the money.
