Icicle Impale

Icicle Impale gives every blast +48 damage to MOAB-class bloons (50 in total, up from 10), a slightly larger blast and the shatter damage type. Most importantly, it can now freeze MOAB-class bloons. Frozen blimps do not stop completely: ZOMGs crawl at 2.25 units per second and MOABs, BFBs and DDTs at 5 units per second, no matter the difficulty or round. BADs and boss bloons cannot be frozen.

When to buy it

Icicle Impale mixes damage and support. It is especially strong against DDTs, which it can lock down and chip away, and it neutralizes other non-BAD blimps fairly well. Pair it with towers that handle dense rounds, such as MOAB Press or Glaive Lord.

• 0-2-5 is the best crosspath: faster attacks, more pierce and longer freezes for stronger stalls. Add two Acidic Mixture Dips for lead and a Radar Scanner for camo so it can handle DDTs.
• 2-0-5 gives its own lead and camo coverage when that support is not available.

Is it worth it?

It is a good tier 5 at $30,000, but Super Glue competes directly with it, offering similar blimp control more cheaply, especially with Sauda or Pop and Awe. Pick Icicle Impale when you also want its damage and icicles. Compared with Absolute Zero it is better at holding blimps and worse at general bloon control, and compared with Super Brittle it trades damage support for stalling. In CHIMPS it is a strong answer to the DDT rounds of the late game. In Boss Events it cannot freeze bosses or BADs, so its value there is in controlling the smaller blimps.
