How to use Larger Radius
Larger Radius increases the Ice Monkey range by 7, from 20 to 27, about 35% more. The freezing blast grows with it, so each attack covers more track. Pierce, speed and freeze duration are unchanged.
When to buy it
A 0-0-1 Ice Monkey is not worth the extra money as a standalone stall. Larger Radius is bought as a crosspath or as the first step toward Re-Freeze and Cryo Cannon.
Its most important crosspath use is on Arctic Wind and higher: it is the only upgrade that enlarges the frozen water area for land towers, as well as the slowing aura. A 0-3-1 or 0-3-2 Arctic Wind can open up much more space on water maps. It also helps Ice Shards and brittle builds reach more bloons.
Is it worth it?
Only as a crosspath or a step down the bottom path. On middle path water builds it can be essential.
