Round 79 is a long, busy round that sets you up for the ZOMG on round 80. A steady stream of 500 Regrow Rainbows runs for a full minute, four BFBs appear in the first 38 seconds, and two Fortified BFBs close out the round.

It is not a rush, but it tests your crowd control: 500 Rainbows split into thousands of smaller bloons, and regrow means your towers have to finish them rather than just chip them. In return it is by far the best-paying round of the 61 to 80 stretch: $6,530 from pops plus a $179 bonus. RBE is 45,804 and the round lasts about 60 seconds.

  • 500 × Rainbow Bloon (Regrow) (0–60 s)
  • 4 × BFB (3.2–38.2 s)
  • 2 × BFB (Fortified) (47.2–57.2 s)

How to beat round 79

Steady area damage plus MOAB damage is enough.

  • Rainbows: anything with high pierce works, such as Glaive boomerangs, Tack Shooters, Plasma Monkey Fan Club, Wizards, Sun Avatar or a Bloon Solver glue gunner. Spread it out along the track so regrowing bloons do not slip through gaps.
  • BFBs: Elite Sniper, MOAB Assassin, Sticky Bomb and Sun Avatar handle the four BFBs. The two Fortified BFBs at the end have 1,400 health each before ramping, so make sure your burst damage is ready.
  • Prepare round 80: spend the round 79 cash on single-target damage for the ZOMG. In CHIMPS this is your last chance to add a big MOAB tower before the final round on Hard.

A pre-round hint before round 80 warns that a ZOMG is coming, so read it as your cue to finish your MOAB upgrades.

Alternate Bloons Rounds

In Alternate Bloons Rounds the 500 Rainbows become camo instead of regrow, the BFBs are Fortified and a ZOMG replaces the last two BFBs. RBE climbs to 59,452, so the ABR ZOMG shows up one round earlier than in standard play.
