Accelerated Aerodarts

Accelerated Aerodarts is a second-row Military knowledge that makes Monkey Ace darts fly 50% faster. Homing darts from Neva-Miss Targeting, Spectre and Flying Fortress also turn 20% faster. It requires Airforce Upgrades, costs one Knowledge Point and no Monkey Money, and unlocks Targeted Pineapples.

How it changes the game

A Monkey Ace fires while flying a fixed pattern, so its darts often have to travel a long way to reach the track. Faster darts reach their target sooner and are less likely to miss bloons that move out of their path:

• Base Ace and top path (Rapid Fire, Lots More Darts, Fighter Plane): the radial dart bursts cover more ground before expiring, which helps the Ace hit fast bloons on the edges of its flight path.
• Bottom path (Neva-Miss Targeting, Spectre, Flying Fortress): homing darts both fly and turn faster, so they lock on and connect more reliably.
• Goliath Doomship: the Monkey Ace Paragon gets faster homing and non-homing missiles, and since version 57 its forward-firing darts benefit as well.

What it does not affect: other Ace projectiles such as Exploding Pineapple pineapples, Bomber Ace bombs and the Ground Zero or Tsar Bomba abilities. It adds no pierce, damage or attack speed. Since version 9, this knowledge no longer makes Neva-Miss Targeting worse, which was a problem in very early versions of the game.

Is it worth it?

Priority: good, mainly as a gateway. The direct effect is a quality-of-life improvement for Ace players that you rarely notice in a single round. It is still on every account, because it leads to Targeted Pineapples, Gun Coolant, Aeronautic Subsidy, Wingmonkey and Advanced Logistics, which makes all Military towers cheaper.

Compared with Rapid Razors, the other child of Airforce Upgrades, Accelerated Aerodarts leads to a more valuable chain. Most players buy both eventually, since Advanced Logistics also needs Door Gunner, which sits below Rapid Razors.

Where it works

Accelerated Aerodarts is active wherever Monkey Knowledge is enabled: Standard, Impoppable, Military Only, Races and Boss Events, where a Goliath Doomship benefits from the faster darts and missiles. It is disabled in CHIMPS and in challenges that switch knowledge off.
