Spectre adds a fast barrage that alternates between darts and bombs, firing every 0.06 seconds. The darts deal 6 sharp damage with 4 pierce. The bombs deal 3 explosive damage, +4 against ceramics, with 20 pierce. Both seek their target, and the barrage always uses First targeting. The original homing darts also get stronger, going from 1 to 3 damage with better tracking.

When to buy it

Spectre costs $23,400 on Medium, which is a lot for a tier 4. It is still one of the best mid-game carries on many maps because its base damage and pierce are high enough to handle rounds 63, 76 and 78 on maps with reasonable track length.

The usual crosspath is 2-0-4: Rapid Fire speeds up every attack and Lots More Darts adds more homing darts. Use 0-2-4 if you need built-in camo detection.

Because the barrage targets First, keep the plane flying ahead of the lead bloons so the bombs hit the front of the wave.

Strengths and limits

Spectre falls off in the late game against super ceramics and fortified blimps, since it needs too many hits and wastes shots on strays. Its rapid fire rate also makes Berserker Brew less effective than on Neva-Miss.

Rosalia is the best hero partner in CHIMPS, because her Ace discount makes both Spectre and the upgrade to Flying Fortress more affordable.

Is it worth it?

Yes, as a mid-game carry and a stepping stone to Flying Fortress. On maps with several lanes active at once it struggles to cover everything, so plan support there.
