How to use Fighter Plane
Fighter Plane adds a pair of homing missiles that only target and damage MOAB-class bloons. Each missile deals 18 damage with 4 pierce, they fire every 3 seconds and only while a blimp is on screen, and they always go for the strongest target. The plane also flies 20% faster. The missiles cannot damage black-property bloons, so they will not crack a DDT by themselves.
When to buy it
The classic use is the round 40 MOAB on maps where line of sight or range makes ground towers awkward. Because the Ace patrols the whole map and the missiles home in, it can chip at the blimp almost anywhere. It is also a natural stepping stone if you plan to go Operation: Dart Storm and later Sky Shredder.
Crosspaths matter less here. Exploding Pineapple raises missile pierce from 4 to 6 and makes each missile drop a pineapple when it explodes, but the effect is small. Spy Plane is only worth it when you need camo detection, for example against Phayze. Most players run 3-0-0 or the cheap 3-0-1 if they want Sharper Darts for later.
Is it worth it?
For pure MOAB damage, MOAB Mauler on a Bomb Shooter is cheaper and hits harder. Fighter Plane earns its spot when the map makes ground anti-MOAB unreliable or when you are saving toward Dart Storm.
Frequently asked questions
Can Fighter Plane pop DDTs?
Not alone. Its missiles cannot damage black-property bloons and the Ace has no camo detection without Spy Plane or outside support.
How much does Fighter Plane cost?
It costs $1,000 on Medium. Prices for every difficulty are listed at the top of this page.
Does Fighter Plane pop regular bloons?
The missiles only hit MOAB-class bloons. Regular bloons are handled by the dart volleys, now 12 per shot from Lots More Darts.
